I tore the worn plastic/rubber coating off mine and greased them as the wire is still in great shape. I think I remember RockAuto having a new pair for sale under $20 recently.

My cables are rusted and wasn’t sure about the Dorman.

So, called the dealer yesterday to be told by one parts guy that they were in. He saw them in the back. So I go to the dealer, and they cannot find them. Guy I spoke to went home already....SOOO after getting a little aggravated with this issue, come to find out they were never ordered AND the guy I spoke to was called and said he THOUGHT he saw them in the back. So, they were properly ordered and was told I’d be getting a discount for the inconvenience.

Im all about OEM parts where they make sense but possible dealership aggravation like you experienced and they fact these are just coated steel cable is why i bought aftermarket for 8.00 on these.

It should’ve all run smoothly. I think they were $10-11 each at the dealer. I had looked into the Dorman, but the reviews weren’t that great. It’s not a big issue, just frustrating that the parts weren’t properly ordered AND getting a line of BS from the one guy at the dealer saying they were in....

Yeah. The OEM ones are thicker/better. Time wasted due to liars always chaps my ass, too.
