Fuel light came on about 4 miles outside of town. Spincter got real tight. (28° with gusts up to 35 mph. Windchill is about 11°)

Stopped in at a small mom/pop country getting place with one gas pump. Topped off.

It’s all self here. Last time I was at the grocer, I help a old lady loosen her gas cap, that’s where I draw the line!

Lol I helped an older gentleman a few weeks ago. He couldn't unscrew his either.

When I was driving Bertha, the first time I filled up I unscrewed the cap, and watched it fall to the ground.

I thought to myself, "didn't there used to be a catch cord there? OH! D'OH"

    LOL

did you listen to pops story of why he couldn’t get the cap off? I just said “gotta hold your tongue the right way”
After I said it I regretted it, haha but thankfully she didn’t say anything back.
I think I need a new gas cap, I’ll shell out the pesos for the Oem with the lanyard

He simply said his fingers didn't work like they used to. I said, thats okay, and its okay to need help sometimes. He said thanks.

I could tell he was uncomfortable because he needed help. Granted, even for me it felt like chuck norris put that damn gas cap on!

I made it look like I was struggling because I was! Seemed to make him feel better.

    Lanyard for the win.

Does anyone know what this smaller sensor is next to the coolant temperature sensor? It broke and I can't find it in any of Toyota's diagrams.

I never let my tank get below a quarter unless I'm putting in some high dollar juice. Just from experimenting, my tank (and yours too it seems) still has 5 gallons left after the light comes on. It's a pretty crazy reserve.

I got tired of the OEM door sill scuff guards that came with my truck. They were super cracked, peeling, chipping, and barely holding on.

I found an ebay special of these Toyota ones for a good price. I think they look good. I would've loved to put the rear ones further forward, but the latch for the rear door was in the way and I didn't want to throw the two rear guards away.

Excuse the dirt. It's chilly out this time of year and I'm not motivated to shampoo or vacuum my floors

That picture is from when I left the house. As I was pulling into the pump station the needle was right about halfway over the last line on the guage. I think? Don't know for sure.

I was in Apollo 13 mode. No heat, no extra skinny pedal, no radio, nothing plugged in the cigarette plugs.

Dang! And you still had 5ish gallons to spare based on the pic of the pump. Impressive.

What kind of MPGs does that v6 get?

Yeah, it didn't feel very impressive with my asshole making diamonds.
I was pulling some big hills (for here) with almost no petrol.

Not as good as it used to be with the OEM injectors. These high flow, 12 hole, dirty deeds injectors love squirting. Makes the engine bay hotter too. Based on back of the hand feel.

I used to consistently get 400-ish miles to a tank. Regardless, of weather, or time of year.

Now I'm averaging about 300. Regardless of weather, or time of year.

In the winter time my truck idles more. Especially on these cold days.

That's interesting. I have the same injectors and my mpgs didn't change. I'd think since the fuel ratios are controlled via a closed loop, you wouldn't have much difference either. Maybe it's because it's cold out. My mpg gets to be pretty horrendous when it's as cold as it has been here.

I may have my foot in it more. It was pretty slouchy before the injectors, but I was around 300k-ish. Its on my build page. Can't remember the exact mileage.

Oh yeah. Granted, your engine is a completely different design than mine. Bear that in mind.

Immediate throttle response improved. I also tightened up my throttle cable around the same time. Which is something you computer trucks don't have. Could also be a factor in this.

I think I made posts about this in this thread, or in the lunchtable thread if you're handy with the search function.

This is actually super bright, and cheap. I figure two short strips could be put inside the lens. If a cleaner look is desired. Personally, I wanted more effect than look.

I did it this way because I was drunk, but it does provide great WHOLE cab light. Makes the front dome lights pretty much useless. Lol
