    Hi folks,

Our old Kitchen-Aid has died and the parts are close to $1000 so looking for a new oven.

Does anyone have experience with GE gas ovens?

Extra points if you have experience with the dual oven version:

Our home came with all new GE units some years back. We lost our dishwasher within 15 months, the microwave failed to heat and the stove window cracked and light went out. We have been replacing them with Kitchen Aid units. No issues. I have also heard from other neighbors with similar GE issues.

I and about a dozen other neighbors would not be a good support system for this decision. New builders buy in bulk according to our construction supervisor, but that didn't explain the # of neighbors with issues.

We have this oven as it came with the house on a new build. 2 years just passed - zero issues.
No issues with fridge, microwave or dishwasher either.

My last GE range was gas without any issues in 7 years. I’ve seen Sean’s @T-Rex266 appliances and they are nice.

We had a GE $2-3k Induction. Konked out just outside warranty, parts were more than buying new. Didn't make it to 5y.

    I'll never buy GE again.

We now have a Samsung Induction Double oven, so I'll speak to that part of it. Handy when you need it, but more times than not, it's a nuisance to pull the divider out and store it somewhere the dog doesn't lick it. It does come in handy sometimes though, when making smaller meals or you want to have the broiler ready after cooking in the lower section.

I wanted induction but it was 2-3 times the cost, depending on whether I went with an el cheapo brand or a Samsung.

We wanted it for the kids safety. Both our kids like to cook and the safety aspect outweighed the costs for us. We also needed a drop in and didn't have gas hookup, when we redid our kitchen.

I will say this. The induction is awesome for speed and heat control. The negative is, not being able to char items or flambe etc. And you can't leave a boiling pot on it unattended, because if it boils over, it doesn't make a sound when the water or liquid hits a hot element as there isn't one. Not having to worry about burns is huge, especially when your wife is a pediatric burn nurse.

We paid about $3k Canadian for this one, from Costco and did opt for the extended Costco warranty

I bought GE appliances 7 years ago for a kitchen remodel and I do not recommend you do the same. I had repairs almost immediately to the hood, dual-oven, and refrigerator in the first year. The repair person was kind enough to advise me to take the screws out of range and reinstall with anti-seize lube. The materials are not good, the software and app for starting the range away from the house work maybe 1/2 the time, and I am pretty sure the refrigerator is not going to see the end of 2021. I recommend you keep shopping and pay a little extra for a better product and happier experience.

This may not help at all but all of our appliances are electric and Whirlpool since 2015. The garage fridge since 2012 and no issues with them. The only thing I have done is replace the light in the microwave and clean them.

I have an LG duel oven and hate it. Love the stove but the duel oven sucks, top oven and bottom oven ether over cooks or under cooks. Had to do over would of gotten the same stove but single oven, my neighbor has same stove but single oven and no problems. Only regret is the double oven. Read reviews on the GE,

I replaced all appliances in my previous home with GE Profile products before GE sold their appliance business to Haier. We loved the appliances and had zero issues. We had the dual fuel range. We still have the 28 CF fridge and it is still going strong after 6 years. Been wanting to replace existing range, dishwasher and microwave with GE at the new place but have been skeptical about quality and reliability following the sale to Haier.
