I have been running this head unit for almost 2 years now and it has been fabulous.
You can change your launch screen, diagnose check engine codes and clear them. The head unit comes with a gps receiver but you can get an adapter to connect it to your factor gps antenna. You can download any android app from google play. I use my phone to hot spot the WiFi to the head unit and i can do just about what ever i need to with the unit. It was probably a 4 on install level due to some labeling issues with the wires but i was able to find diagrams to help online.

This is the one in my photos. I didn't buy it on Ebay and i paid $365 for it. Best purchase I have made for the interior so far. Find Secaine's web page and view what they have then find one with a good price. I will be removing mine in a week to install the TPMS adapter so i can monitor each tire temp and pressure since i just sunk $3,500 bucks in wheels and rubber. I can take some photos of the wiring then. There are some good install videos on You tube too.

Mine came with a backup camera as well and its 3 times better than the one in our Accura RL Finding the right wire so it comes on when in reverse was a challenge but its all good now. Like i said ive been using it daily for almost 2 years and its been flawless. You can even watch Tv shows which is great when the kids are in the truck.

How's the radio? Still working good? My backlight burned out in my stock jbl head unit, dealership wants $1200 for new one. I want to replace it and this appears to have all I want, Netflix on the go, android mirror etc. Did you use stock rear camera? Or aftermarket? I appreciate any info. Mine is a 2012 tundra limited.

*lol thought this was an old post. Sorry. *edited.

My 2010 didn't come with a stock camera. I bought an Amazon $30 camera the same time i bought the secaine and installed them together. The camera has 1080p and it at least 3 times better than the stock one in our Acura Rl. I will take some photos tonight. I have been running this setup for almost 2 years and i have had Zero issues.

I have to change my above statement the radio didn't come with a backup camera.

If your huge into music you will want an AMP and upgraded speakers.

There is no way i would pay them $1,200 for a junk radio.

I was where you are now. When i bought the truck i had the same issue with the factory radio and couldn't see to change any settings. That lead me to researching the purchase i made with the Secaine. I absolutely love it and all of the options that it give me. I will also post some shots of the TPMS setup once i have it installed.

The camera i bought was from Coolwoo but here is something similar. At first i thought well its only like $25 bucks so if it goes out oh well. But i have been impressed with the performance with this camera.camera.jpg

Awesome man, Thanks for info. Yea its a pain. I can hear the radio and all the buttons still work. But the screen is blank. IF you hold a flashlight directly up to the screen you can just barely see the info. You have any recommendations for the install? Ive never done a car radio so im prob gonna attemp it. The camera looks nice but i have one installed in the handle of the tailgate. I would love to continue using it or at least replace the one inside the tailgate. I guess ill have to do more research. Hardest part is finding the head unit I want lol.

You can still use your factory camera. Just need to find where the wire that plugs into your mirror is. You can tap into that wire and connect that to the camera wire on the head unit. There are several good videos on Secaine install on you tube.

Here is what the back looks like. I did get another adapter harness from best buy to hook this up as the correct one for my non jlb system was not there. Secaine did send me the correct one but i couldn't wait and just went and bought one myself. So its important when ordering you clearly specify if you have JBL or NO JBL equipped1-aftermarket-stereo-gps-navi-7_99.jpg vehicle.

Also important to note is i retained all my steering wheel buttons and i can actually customize each button with 2 functions to control the head unit from the steering wheel. I can switch apps volume nav phone etc through the steering wheel.

Not much. They all seem to be working together now which seems a little Orwellian.

Interesting. I ve been reading about googles newest design specification; Manifest v3. It s been out for a while, (2019), but the site talking about it describes how google has disabled ad blockers to a degree in chrome extensions. It seems only a matter of time before it applies this new spec to other platforms they control. Something about google maps too; It knows how fast you are driving. Insurance companies would love to know that. If fact many insurance companies will reduce premium if you install a tracking modual in vehicle, so they can monitor driving habbits. Maybe i m crazy, or maybe I m just behind the times, but it seems a no brainer what that implies considering google is in the business of the collection and sale of data.

Instead of using chrome, i use Brave browser on my phone and radio. Yes, strange google maps can detect your speed and display it on the maps. But again you need that Location to be ON for that. Only real way to avoid that is to use offline maps. But that would not give you real time traffic. There's no doubt google is collecting data and selling. Unless we go back to dinosaur non-smartphone. We're being track every where we go. Phone needs location enable to get weather and what not. Really depend on how much you are willing to give them (data, location). Well if you look into it, these insurance company give you "discount" when you install one of their obd2 data logging gadget. So, it's already happening. They are looking at your driving habit. To do what? Well, money of course. Raise your premium or set a higher cost of standard premium. They said, install it and return it to them after 90 days and they will give you the "discount".. so, now your are being track, again.

Thanks for the replies man. I'm probably gonna go with this unit. I've been looking into some 10.2" floating units but man, this my first step into aftermarket head units and its a bit overwhelming with all the wiring and adapters and harnesses etc. I just want a less expensive, nice screen that runs android so I can run waze, apps, Netflix etc on it while driving (for family, as we often do long drives to tennesse).

There was also one I was looking into that allowed a front HD camera. Be nice to have.

The Secaine will utilize the camera. I was actually looking to upgrade my rear view mirror with the home-link model so i can open my gate and garage door without the remotes. What i was looking for with the Secaine was a clean flush mount stock looking appearance, and this unit was a perfect fit for me.

Its under $300 bucks now, think i paid $350 but its been worth every penny.
