    nice setup
which light did you get on Amazon? mind sharing the link please?

also, late to the thread too as I just saw the thread:

I've had both a SIG P22 and Glock (.40cal & 9mm) as service pistols for work

Yes they both need service at times especially with how many rounds we put thru them at training & range days but I'll take the Glock over the SIG any day

With that said, some guys I work with will say the opposite, but most of us are on team Glock

    cheers!

good lord, what could have possibly broken on a g17, let alone 2? i can replace/repair anything on that platform in my garage and i am certainly not a gunsmith.

i understand you work at a range but my advice (totally unsolicited) would be to skip Sig's repair shop, they offer poor QA and are slow. send it to grayguns, Bruce and his team have worked on every one of my Sigs and always does the best work. grayguns is the standard for Sig work.

For me, top tier ... Sig, HK, CZ then Glock.

Next tier ... Kimber, Springfield, S&W and then the rest.

Both cracked along the lower portion of the slide, the lip that extended over the rail. To their benefit, they still shot... Mostly.
We abuse the rentals. The guide springs never get changed and maybe we change them at 15k. We have a unique perspective when comparing abuse model to model, make to make.. Then comparing them to customers modified weapons in the armorers cache waiting for repair.

In short, abuse and customers can break anything. Some of the abuse is our lack of maintenance.

I'll look at gray guns. I have a "little more experience“ than some old fart that works at a gun range.. Lol, but I appreciate the advice.

I have numerous Sigs. If they want to play with my 220, I'll carry the 226L or 227/228/239/225. They've done excellent work in the past. As I said, I'll look at GG.

Looked not a bad outfit. They offer 12 weeks in the Queue, 3/4 weeks in the shop. This is comparable to Sig during the "pandemic". They appear to be focused on the 320. Enhanced action and cleanup options look pretty good, but I want the following :

Action enhanced, NS, SRT, and most importantly "full service". Those springs are 33 years old.
All this will eat up $500

They seem to offer nice appearance options...

you wont be disappointed. grayguns is the standard for sig/hk just like cajun gun works is the standard for CZ, zevtech for glock, etc.

i have several sigs (dont shoot them a lot these days as i have centralized training on glock 17/19).

i sent Bruce all my Sigs, i have 6 226, two 220. i sold the 220s but kept all my 226s telling myself the last id buy were the legion and combat.

I'm in for Glock. G17 and G42 here. G42 fits in my pocket which is how I carry 99.9% of the time.

I own Glock for one main reason - they were actually IN stock @ the local gun shop. (Went to purchase either a G19x or a P320...and the P320 was out of stock, but the G19x had multiple in stock, as they'd literally JUST had a few in that day after having been out of them for about 2 months straight.)

While I'm no expert, I'd be FAR more concerned about firearms having issues within the first 1K rounds through it than whether or not one breaks/has issues at 15-20K vs. another side arm. At that point, either a weakness with that particular part has been exposed, OR the lack of maintenance by the user has been exposed.
