Absolutely. Has to happen.

 

Man I hate to hear that. As a 25 year LEO, it bothers me every time I hear or read about a brother officer getting killed.

 

We are diminished! RIP

I'm fairly certain the 17 year old will be tried as an adult. If he wasn't, they probably wouldn't have released his name and picture. They don't generally release those if someone is a minor iirc.

I read today also that apparently Sgt. Harnnett's widow is expecting their first child. I can't imagine what she's going through.

 

And have applied for parole already. Obscene.

One can only hope some street justice finds them. They'll never serve any serious time with our system as it is.

 

They can release a minors name (and photo) in certain high profile situations, if a judge allows, when the warrant is issued, for a limited time window. The time has elapsed, so the media is no longer allowed to publish his name and photo. At least that's how it is in MB. I see it all the time and it never makes any sense to me why the courts protect minors who are scum and have broken the law.

That said, I sure hope this piece of trash is tried as an adult and both receive the maximum sentence.

What a shame.

 

That’s what happens here in AB as well. Same old story, both known to police, and the 17 year old was driving. Agreed, he should be tried as an adult.
