I have a couple questions maybe you guys can answer. I was originally going to order the Tesla style radio when I bought my truck. However since using the truck I’ve grown fond of the tactile knobs on the auto climate control. The truck already had an after market double din cheap screen in. I’ve had issues with the sound, seems to me the sub doesn’t work at all. The center speaker doesn’t work and the rear sounds very quiet but I can hear sound if I put my ear right at the speaker. Fade doesn’t work. If I fade to the rear everything turns off. I pulled the radio out and wen tower the install from the manufacturer and it seems to be done correctly.

I had planned on getting the Tesla style radio but since i like my controls I have decided to get the Dasaita radio instead. However I dont want to continue having issues with my speakers. I’m not a big sound guy but the speakers in my 99 Camry sound better then this thing. I’d like to get the sound sorted and then upgrade the radio.

Any ideas on what’s up with the speakers. Is it that they just are that bad, also no sub.

do you have the jbl system? If not, I don't think you have a sub.

Hey all. New here. I've been toying with the idea of getting a dasaita unit for a while now and since my tesla style stopped producing any sound whatsoever after owning it for almost the last 2 years, I figure now's as good a time as any. I'll be going through all 50 pages of this thread as soon as I get some free time, but in the mean time I'm wondering what's the newest most reliable version of the dasaita unit out there for my '14 sr5 non-jbl having truck?

I understand that I'll need a dash kit in addition to whatever model unit I'll be ordering, but I'm also wondering if anyone has experienced any rattling from it (saw a youtube video of a reviewer in a tundra with a dasaita and that was his biggest gripe apparently).

These units are fast boot, correct? My tesla unit can do split screen (one app on top, one on the bottom simultaneously), do these units do something similar (one app on each side I'm presuming considering the layout)?

Honestly, I loved my tesla unit, but i can't justify getting another one at the moment as I don't believe they've made any strides in terms of the tech in the last 2 years since I bought mine. Any help and insight would be greatly appreciated!

So I found this unit on Amazon.

I got to it from the dasaita store on amazon, but it looks like it's being sold by "saita navi." Is that the same dasaita? Also, I've looked and I've never had to do this before, but I can't seem to find the option to contact the seller.

@choover567 did you ever figure out how to wire in the AUX input? Dasaita told me that it should work w/ my PX6 Max10 built-in but it doesn't and it seems like they might have given up on troubleshooting w/ me.
BTW, the optical connection is for the GPS antenna, which I don't believe there is a connector for to use OEM w/ Dasaita.

Dasaita have two email for both Amazon store and separate email from e Bay store. You can go to their website.

From what I understand there are a few distributors of Dasaita HUs, some legit and some not. I think this one is legit. I did however purchase mine from the Amazon Dasaita store front. It just made me more at ease when I read a couple pages back to be aware of some fraud sellers of these HUs on Amazon. What i can tell you is that I am having some common problems w/ my HU (rear camera and AUX input not working) and I have been messaging both Dasaita (the infamous, Iris) and Saita Navi and they are both VERY responsible, although, sadly not too helpful at this point. Personally, I would trust purchasing from either storefront on Amazon based on my messages w/ Saita Navi. Good luck!

So after many, many circular and redundant emails between the Dasaita (where I purchased my HU) and Saita Navi storefronts on Amazon I've come to learn that there are a lot of contradictions between the manufacturer/Dasaita and a distributor/Saita Navi. Many of the things I was told by Dasaita/Iris that would work, and don't work, were told to me by Saita Navi that they don't and can't work. Ug, I still have hope that they work as I don't want to mess w/ the vehicle wiring...unless I have to. I'm starting to believe I will have to do some taps to get the rear camera image to display and also for the AUX input, too. Sadly, the fader also doesn't work even though both D and SN say it should work. Iris is finally accepting the possibility that a wrong or defect harness was sent. I re-sent her pics of the harnesses/canbus sent this AM and we will see soon what she decides we should do. Interestingly, so many people on this forum speak of the CB005 and CB004 canbus' and I don't think CB005-1 has ever come up. This is the one Iris recommended for me that I had to get from China for $60 expedited delivery (w/ a $30 refund on my HU) so that my factory rear camera would work. I've been driving around for the last week or so w/ my HU hanging out since it is such a P.I.T.A. to keep putting it in and pulling it out to double and triple check connections and suggestions. In spite of the fader probs everything else is great and I love it. Funny thing is I hear about people having problems w/ CP. I am an Android user and my teenager is an iphone user, and whenever he gets into my truck his freakin' iphone takes over my HU w/ CP before I can plug in my Android for AA! First world probs, I guess! Kinda wish I was having CP probs :).

Before taking the plunge with dasaita I was shopping at crutchfield.com from them where I found out that the fade feature from the JBL system will not work with any aftermarket stereo. I come to accept that. And with rading all the treads for the backup camera and purchasing extra parts and patches with not having any luck until I get a specific harness from dasaita or just run a completely new camera and find a way to mount it like oem.

Ebay and Amazon have an aftermarket camera for tone toyota using the license plate light to mount it into. My other option is to run the camera to the rear spoiler below the third brake light. I'll need one with an adjustable pivoting camera to maximize the view of the rear bumper when backing up, especially hooking up a trailer.

Usb/aux adapter harness have to be reorded. I might take the plunge and get the maestro 3 pieces combo just to use one of them and just put the rest in my junk drawer.

The Google assistant on my head unit sometime supersede the AA. And treks me that I'm not connected. I'm trying to figure out how to disable the assistant on the HU only but not on my entire Google account.

I have an idea what harness I am missing from dasaita. I just have to take a better photo of it and e mail then again.

The 6v camera patch harness I orderd from Amazon plugs in to this. Dasaita did not provide this.

So how does it work ordering from Amazon? I place the order any they get a hold of me? Or do I need to reach out to them first prior to ordering?

It's worth ordering from Amazon. Order what you want. Send them a message with the photo of the back of your head unit, order number, year and model and specify if you have a JBL system with/without amp/rear entertainment system confirm your order.

If you have rear entertainment you'll loose that feature. I confirm that with crutchfield.com with the radios I was considering before o took a plunge with Dasaita.

I hope that helps with your decision.

Pioneer nex with 8" screen or 10 floating will be less headache, but not customizable. Crutchfield have good tech support, but the product then selves have their own issues. And it's not guaranteed that what you got work run perfectly during the initial installation.

Looks like you didn't get the power harness w/ canban from Dasaita - that's what goes into that port. They send a generic but they send a replacement based on the info you share w/ them (like what you told @Tormundsbeard above). Based on what I think I know about your rig and OEM HU I would say you need CB005-1. The -1, I'm told, means you can connect your factory rear cam to it. While I believe them, the connector I was given on the power harness doesn't accept the connector on the truck harness. See photo below. I was requested last night to pull the orange wire from the white connector and stick it into the appropriate hole on the gray connector. Didn't give it a try today as I couldn't get the wire to release from the connector.

Updates from today: Got the Agama Launcher working. Love it. Would post a pic but the whole HU and HVAC controls are hanging by harnesses :). The new thing I found out today is that the APK for Netflix does not work on my HU (Post 943 Netflix version 4.16) and I can't find HULU on Google Play (I thought another member said they had it but didn't say anything about an APK).

    EDIT:
    Working APKs:
Netflix 7.84.1 build 28 35243 (nodpi) (Android 5.0+) APK Download by Netflix, Inc. - APKMirror

Hulu: Stream all your favorite TV shows and movies 4.14.1.409440 APK Download by Hulu - APKMirror

Should I order with prime or do as an earlier post described and order directly from their store through Amazon?

The answer is yes. Amazon Prime! Easier return and faster shipping is a +. You still need to contact them with your order number to ensure that you get the right canbus and harness base on the equipment you currently have.

Dasaita is going to sending me the right patch harness now! Hopefully this will be the last. And I'll have a backup camera working again.

Alright! Everything seems to be on track to be delivered tomorrow... except the headunit itself (maybe) :annoyed:. What's concerning me at the moment is that the unit says it's supposed to arrive tomorrow, but when checking further it doesn't show as shipped. The square type headunit w/o the dasaita writing at the bottom can no longer be found going through dasaita's storefront on Amazon. The only way to find it is to manual search for it, or if you have the actual link to it. Now it's no longer listed as being sold by saita navi, but instead, the dasaita store. Clicking on that brings me back to my second point where it's not listed on their storefront. The can-bus that I ordered through dasaita's storefront is confirmed as shipped.

Sheesh. Let's hope it was actually sent with the rest of my order and the shipping info had just not been updated. Has anyone else experienced this when ordering one through Amazon prime?

Well looks like everything came in on time! Now, just one stupid question. How do you get the screen off so I can install the scoche bezzle/mounting bracket I bought. I see all these posts about installing the unit itself, but nothing on installing the bezzle/bracket to the unit itself. Any help would be appreciated.

You wouldn’t by any chance happen to have any photos of what you did, would you? The metro dash kit is out of stock for what seems to be until at least February, and I’d like to be able to get my HU in before then lol

Which scosche did you get? Mine was too narrow by a few mm so I ended up cutting and grinding on the kit to jam the head unit into the opening. pretty much hacked it to pieces and still barely works. My plan is to get the metra kit but only did this to allow me to use the radio while I wait.
