Here from Idaho! Finally got my dream truck just in stock form at the moment. Hoping to reach its final form here shortly. You all have been great with the information and openness to help others. I have a 2017 Black Platinum, bigger tires, Black Fuel Vapors on the way, 3/1 level kit, black out and will hopefully update the build as I go. Either way great to be here and thanks for all the information already!

Plans for the Tundra this week:

    285/70/18 Ridge Grapplers

Fuel Vapors Black +1 offset (hope rub isn’t bad, already removed front mud flap my tire guys say can make it fit with alignment)

    3/1 Procomp Nitro level

Led headlight and fog lights. Fogs seem easy headlights look like a pain compared to our 4Runner.

What are everyone’s thoughts on the chrome? Thinking about blacking out the chrome handles, Platinum badge and side mirrors. I have added black running boards and black toolbox. Every truck I see on these forums are incredible in their own ways and just trying to keep up!

Your truck is rad. My whole family wife and 3 daughters all Snowboard (minus the 5 month old but maybe this year lol) so this truck will be playing in the snow often. My wife has a 19 4Runner SR5 premium all set up so it might be a fight about which vehicle to play in.

Love Tamarack, my buddy ski patrolled up there forever and my fam loves to visit. My wife was raised in McCall so that’s usually our first choice but everything up there is beautiful. We spend a ton of time in Crouch as well due to proximity and beauty.

Yes, blackout the door handles and mirror. Leave the Platinum badge b/c it might look cool with just the badging.

And if you’re use that truck for real, save to swap those running boards for rock sliders....

I was considering exactly what you said on the blackout and badge. Might go that route and will update with pics and final decision. I have 3 young daughters so wanted an easy in out for them. I def use a truck for real but not crazy off-roading. I hunt and camp a ton but mainly forest service roads so no rock crawling or anything like that. Also getting that 3/1 level tomorrow with bigger tires as well.

I clearly didn’t know what running boards you were taking about. Those are easy in and out as well and provide better clearance. Will def look into those in the future. Good looking out! Appreciate it.

Some good rock sliders for most casual+ off-roading that offer protection and double as steps are SDHQ. Or White Knuckle Off-Road which have an option to plate the top. Anyway, shipping $ would suck. It’s just an idea for you to know about. :)

Very true, they can't even give houses away there. Reminds me of a mountainous skid row.
