Going to do a Front End Steering/Suspension Rebuild
What main steering / front end suspension parts should be done when tackling a complete over haul? There is nothing I hate more than redoing the same work twice. I should have tackled all this when I had my 5100’s Installed... Help me compile a list of parts I should replace.

    • Front Upper Ball Joint - Qty 2
    • Front Lower Ball Joint Passenger Side - Qty 1
    • Front Lower Ball Joint Driver Side - Qty 1
    • Front Outer Tie Rod End Passenger Side - Qty 1
    • Front Outer Tie Rod End Driver Side - Qty 1
    • Front Inner Tie Rod End - Qty 2
    • Bilstein Shocks - Qty 2 (DONE)
    • Front Wheel Bearings
    • Front CV Axles
    Additional Considerations?
-Steering knuckle or shaft seal or bushing?
    -UCA’s?

    SPC Cams Bolts

Maybe New OEM CV Axles (or do a rebuild on existing prior to total work done at shop with High Dolla Alignment)

New front bearings if you want to spend $

Steering rack bushings, sway bar links, and frame side sway bar bushings.

New lower control arms, maybe upper if you aren't happy with your alignment numbers.

I thought the inner tie rods on our trucks were part of the racks, not sold separately?

New WL13 (slightly larger) Brake Calipers and Shoes if yours are original. Might as well go all in and get it over with.

Yes you can buy inner tie rods only @FirstGenVol part # 45503-09120

@Professional Hand Model Overhauling/upgrading the entire brake system will be next project... if I do buy a sway bar, do The sway bar links replace the outer tie rods? Also, do I want a front, rear or both sway bars? Addco or hellwig?

I am loving the snowflakes & 275/70/17 BFG’s. Only frame rub at full chock...

Unless it's been removed all the trucks came with a front sway bar.

Links and tie rods are different parts.

I’m partial to the Rear Hellwig as its thicker/stouter, but its also more expensive than the Addco one which looks more stealth being mounted in front of the axle.

My Front Sway is OEM. I think the end links parts are separate from the tie rods in that both are needed. Hellwig is Made in USA. Unsure of Addco.

You’ll love having both if you are street driving. Changes the entire handling for the better. Surprised more members don’t have them. Truck is tight!

I would consider UCA bushings or SPC UCAs if they are worn/old.

Be prepared to have to cut the control arms off right @Tundra2 ... Then you will need to do the bushings or buy new arms.

    Yes, correct.

    Diablo thick metal sawzall blades.

Napa Lower Arms. I'll compile a list of links for everything I used on my truck.

I don't see why the V8 would be different than V6 as far as cam sleeves, etc. You do have the CV axle in the way, and need to watch out for.

You mean the Diablo carbide blades right? I have never found anything comparable to those.

@Tundra2 Hi, a bit late to the conversation, but in a similar situation a year later as MNTundra. Did you ever assemble a list?
    thanks
