I believe we drove by that trail. Sounds familiar.

Yep. It’s really a fun trail. I could do some recon for you guys to see if Longwater is open.

Its open, there was a lot of UTVs out there hitting Longwater and Metberry. I haven't done Longwater yet. We held off because some of those north facing rock wall climbs probably still had snow and ice. At least that was my thinking. Definitely going to do it though.
We are going to try to get one more run in this week before the baby boy reports to Benning for RASP.
There are so many miles of trail out there between Divide, Florissant. We are having fun exploring all of them.

Yep, we drove by it. It was on the right almost parallel with the main trail going out.

A buddy of mine verified it is open like you said. I may have to hit that up this summer. One of my favorite trails.

Have to watch that water crossing. Some ding dongs in Jeep’s had to be rescued from down there not long ago. Engine locked up. Guess you can’t take water over the hood. Who knew?

Oh how they grow up so fast. And empty nester....time to sell the house and do what you both have wanted for so long. Good for you!

    Thanks for the info.

Is the timing cover issue on all years?
Does it present itself around a certain mileage or age?

This unit is a 2010 w/170K on it so I would hope if it would have an issue it would have already presented itself.

Mine is a '10 and luckily it has not reared its head. Or it might have lready been repaired. I think it is the luck of the draw, like the cam tower leak.

Let us know if/when you go there. Longwater
I am on the fence with Hackett Gulch.
I would like Mongo to have full skids and the rear lockable. Some videos and couple guys I know say the opposite from each other. It ain't too bad or it can be pretty tricky. I'll keep researching that one.

Will do. I avoid this area on the weekends though. Way to many people out there for my liking.

Here is my daily, 05' GX470. Stock for now aside from some cosmetics and Falken Wildpeak AT3W's. Like it so much the Tundra stays clean. Hoping to lift it, get some full coverage from RCI underneath, and a Thule cargo carrier up top..

What company skids are you going to use? I bought all the skids from RCI when they had a sale not too long ago. I just went with raw aluminum. If I install them and I don’t like it I’ll paint them black. As for the 4.88s they helped a lot with the pedal commander. I removed the pedal commander to see how it felt without it and just the gears and I don’t know if it’s just mine, but my GX throttle response is terrible and I need to romp on it to get it to move. But with the pedal commander you definitely feel the difference on the same setting.

Sorry for all the late responses. Been working in a remote area with no service. To answer your question, I believe it’s just 2010-2013, but like Pat said it’s the luck of the draw like the cam tower leak on the tundras.

I'm going to go with the RCI steel skids.
I'm thinking about the Pedal Commander, not sure though. Mine doesn't seem too bad as far as pedal response. I'll decide after I regear.

Yep, looking at the Harrop or the Eaton for the Prado I would like to have an electronic locker vs air. Just my preference.

Do you have the MTS module? Is it worth the $192 to install. Mine already has crawl control, I'll probably be getting this in the next couple of weeks.

Me too. Unfortunately I didn’t do enough research and just went with both front and rear arb lockers cause I couldn’t find an electronic locker in my searches. They work great in the sense they don’t leak so I’m happy. For now. Haven’t wheeled it yet so we’ll see after a few washboard roads at 30-50mph if the copper line gets damaged.

No on the MTS. I’ve never used any type of crawl control ever cause I’ve never had a vehicle that has had something like that so not sure if I really even need it or if I would even know how to use it.

I'm not going to do the front at this time. Who knows maybe in a couple/few years I might have an SAS installed and then lock it.
The leaking of air is what I don't want to worry about. Sometimes it never happens and sometimes it happens. I know with an electric one I have less to worry about, maybe a relay or wire.

I've played with my CC 2 times once out on the trail and once in the driveway. Noisier than hell but appears to work pretty well. So I figured why not get the MTS module. Its plug and play and from what I have seen only about a 30 minutes to install in behind the glove box.
