If I remember right you have to run a battery cable, to power the amp, everything else is plug and play.

Thanks guys. I not doing that there will be a brand new txd8005 and PLUG and Play wire harness (roflmfao)in classifieds soon. I got the plug and play because i didn't want to run wires. false advertising at its best. running a power cable through firewall is not plug in play in my book. Holy hell i spent an hour trying to figure out test tunes. fk it.

again thank for the quick responses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Running a 4ga wire from the battery to under that passenger seat isn't that hard.
Run it thru the firewall grommet in front of the drivers seat.
Down the kickplate, under the driver's seat, under the console, and there you are..

If you went thru the trouble of ordering TTs upgrade, you're never going to get the results you want without running a line replacing the stock amp (and maybe HU).
Anything plug and play is not going to provide enough power.

    Hell, I ran 0Gga...

Any time you are adding an actual amp you are going to be running a power wire from battery to the amp (not a hard job). The plug and play comes in when hooking up your speakers to the amps. If you were to just buy any amp to power your speakers you would have a lot of splicing to do.

Thanks again. I agree with everyone, but truth be told i could have easily spliced the speaker wires with any amp and didn't need the "plug and play" pkg, as it doesn't save much. It was my fault looking for an easy out to install a "plug and play". I even have 4 gauge wire and fuse I removed from my boat where previous owner had amp that would work as power supply wire. 1lowlife posted pic of power supply video. i have spent no less than 3 hours on ********* website with how to set voltage etc. I never saw that video on running power supply that 1lowlife posted. I guess Apple products have made things easy.

I agree that running the power supply isn't a big deal, I misunderstood plug and play and hoped to knock it out in under an hour thinking if a subwoofer was not used stock power supply wiring would be enough. Truth be told if I would have taken the time i spent throwing a temper tamper I could have had power supply installed with conduit. On flip side I could have used any amp, what's special about taco tunes amps. I definelty understand the benefits of amps.

Thanks and if I want it installed I can easily do it if I want to lol...

Looking for a plug and play amp? This won’t power a sub, but will boost the power to your doors. A pretty nice upgrade actually. You’ll just need to source the harness from Amazon. It’s what I have in my truck. I didn’t have to run any wires with this amp. You do have to wire the harness to the amp harness. So not 100% plug and play, but no running wires, and no cutting truck wires.

So in the end I will use one of the Taco tunes plug and play connectors and use the Amazon harness on the other connector for power and ground? I guess I can run my own ground wire.

On a side note when trying to figure out if the amp was getting power just from the TT plug and play I turned on the radio. Amp wasn't getting any power, on flip side I heard some speakers up front that are not driven by the amp. TT indicates running the test tunes through speakers can damage them, guess I will have to disconnect them prior to tuning the amp. Why does TT require tuning the amps when other amps do not?

Is your system JBL or non-JBL?

The AutoHarnessHouse.com harness is for non-JBL.

@james@tech12volts makes an adapter for JBL systems.

I’m unsure how the ********* harness works, but the harness I shared works great. Follow the instructions carefully included with the amp. I also had to look up the harness wiring diagram so everything got connected properly. When I first installed it, I reused the old amp bracket from under the seat, so everything stays in place. I didn’t need to take out the seat.

I wouldn't even use the TT harness if your going to install the amp @BlueRibbon4x4 suggested.
I'd use the harness he suggested.
That is kinda what I used for my 2014 non-JBL.
But that was back when we had to make our own harnesses..:eek2:

@Mad Max I'd just box that TT stuff up and try to return it or resell it..

With a non-JBL the dash speakers run straight off the HU, the doors run off the underseat amp.
Also the non-JBL HU sends only a mid and low signal to the front doors and uses the dash speakers as tweeters.

All amps need to be tuned after installation.
Gains need to be properly set..
if gains are too high, speakers can be damaged..

Have you replaced any speakers yet?
Or what exactly have you already done?

Perfect I am pumped to hear that haha. Did you order this one by chance? Did you run your own power? I absolutely suck when it comes to wiring and how it works. Much respect to the people who understand the in’s and out’s. Exactly why I need this forum!

Yes, that's the one. I ran the wires to the JL Audio converter for more power to your amp.

Gotcha. I have a Polk audio pa 660 amp, a 10 inch woofer and this kit coming. Would I need anything else to make it work? Lol. Please forgive my ignorance. Again I am trash at the audio aspect.

Ok. I plan on using stock speaker and stock non JBL head unit. I noticed there is a blue and yellow wire coming off the TT plug and play. Since I will not ever install a sub, can I just use the yellow or blue wire coming off the TT harness for power? TT has it capped. I verified they both have 12 volts from toyota connector. On toyota connector one is a very small gauge wire the other looks like 16 or 18 gauge. Does anyone know what color on the stock amplifier is power to the amplifier? I would guess red but TT harness doesn't have pin in that location, shoot maybe I can switch pin locations.

If there is any risk of me overloading the stock wiring with the amp I can run the power. I already have the 4 gauge.

What are the odds of me damaging the speakers with the test tones that are driven straight off the head unit? I have zero desire to unhook the dash and theater speakers. Oh i have to use blue tooth for the test tones since 2021 don't have CD's.

    Thanks again!!

Kinda surprised the amp bracket with taxes and shipping are $100. About $1 in material. I don't want to invest any more until i see what kind of improvement I can get with amp.

As long as you can hook the wires directly to your amp you should be fine. The converter adds a little more power going into the amp. Stock head units tend to be weak. This is what I installed.

I’m running a kenwood 1057xr head unit. these are my amp connections. With what I have I won’t need to run anymore wires or splice anything?

When you get the wiring kit you'll need to hook the purple, purple/black, green, green/black wires to the amp for the speaker inputs unless you already have low level inputs from your head unit.

Roger that. I’m running the maestro rr with the unit. That I do not know. I’ll try hooking it up without those wires first and see how it sounds maybe? The maestro was the p&p kit. Everything got louder when I changed the head unit for sure.when hooking the radio harness to the maestro harness several of the wires that I soldered were for the speakers.

i got it on the run. thank you so much again!!! i removed my yellow pin from the TT harness. I will now reinstall to marry with pin 4 on stock connector. I will take loose end and hook to amp power. Then i will ground amp to frame. If I overload power it should be protected by fuse. thank you so much for diagram.

yellow wire on TT terminal is 12 volt power. so i just need to reinstall and use it to power amp. In other words I think before I removed the yellow connected with pin 4 on toyota harness
