    For those with mice problems:
Just saw this, it's simple, makes a lot of sense and video evidence it works!
I'd bet it'll get mice out of your a Tundras!

Hmmm. I might have to try this. I've got some rodents that have tripped the snap traps 5 times lately w/o getting caught.

I am going to try this for my rat infestation. None of the rat poisons work.
They banned the only one that worked for me

Why did they ban it? Was it too inhumane?

I think it has something to do with wild animals (coyotes etc.) eating the poisoned rats.

My neighbor uses Earl's Pest control co. They use a poison that works. I've seen "drunken" rats walking around in the middle of the day. You might give 'em a call. I also had some mild success with a poison that I bought at Scarborough. The poison disappeared at least.

I guess rats can't swim? Or is there a little something extra in that water?

I use this idea for chipmunks too. Only thing that works. Mine is a little different. I use a half full bucket with black sunflower seeds floating on top with a little ramp and they dive right it

Well, thanks for the video. It is a great ideato trap rats. But, some rats had damaged my home by gnawing through walls, pipes, ducts, and electrical wires which often cause fires. I had used many prevention methods in order to make their entry from outside at your house relatively impossible, but still rats enter my home and try to destroy all the things. Then, on suggestion of my neighbor I had hired a professional rodent pest control Brooklyn NY services, who had used an effective method and completely eliminated all the possibility of a rat infestation, and made my home less suitable for them to thrive.

hey 16, I ran into this too and started using tootsie roll chewed slightly and pushed into the trap feeder. It is harder for them to eat so they work harder on it and the trap snaps! Peanut butter attracts them but is very soft and they can lick it.

The other issue may be you have rats which are too large for the trap??

Thanks for the idea. Here in the mountains it's a constant battle. A friend told me they love chocolate. I've found heating a little chocolate mixed with peanut butter works well too. Thanks for reminding me that I need to bait a few traps today.

My question is what do you do with the rats after they're caught? I'm always tempted to hit 'em with a shovel and chuck them over the fence to the neighbors yard.

Been using this method for years. I put a little peanut butter on the pole across the bucket to entice them up. Our problem has subsided a bit this summer as we had Terminix come over and seal up the house. Lots of spots for them to get in that I didn't realize were there.

As a side note, rats can swim, mice cannot.

good idea. I have one of these in my shed. I originally built it for the boat. Rats in a bass boat are not fun. They build nests in the toughest places to get to.

I don't believe that and rats are not going to swim there way out of the bucket. Only way out is if they can stand on water.

This is exactly why a lot of people catch and kill cats too. They are indiscriminate killers with an insatiable appetite.

If I saw a giant pit of water, with a rolling log going across the middle, with a dozen dead humans floating in the water below... I highly doubt I would try to go for the bacon double cheeseburger sitting on the middle of the log. Dumb mice.
