I just purchased a 2021 Tacoma. I want to install an electric deer whistle. I found a website that sells switches that fit in the knockout plugs in the dash. I need to know the best way to remove the knockout plug on the left side of the dash. Some youtube videos show how to remove that part of the dash in older models but nothing gives me any help for the 2021 model. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

spitballing....but a dremel tool would make quick work cutting out plastic for a switch. Not sure if a Tacoma had any changes to the dash vs 2020, 2019, etc. Suggest you check some of the tacoma forums.

A box cutter will work but you have to be careful not to slip and cut more than you intend.

Let's see if I figured out how to post the picture I took of the dash. I can get my arm up in there behind the knockouts but I can't feel any release tabs. It looks like that cover around those buttons and the knockouts can be removed. I just don't want to risk damaging anything.

Those will pop out without any cutting. There are two release tabs, top and bottom that will let the blank come out.

I would take that whole panel out so you can get behind and remove the blanks easier.

That and/or a sledge will take care of 99% of any vehicular problems.

Do you mean just that small panel around those switches on the left side or the whole panel like I have seen on some you tube videos? If you mean just that small panel, what is the best way to go about it without damaging anything? Are there release tabs on that panel? I appreciate your reply.

This link will show you how to remove the whole switch panel there. It looks like it is all pressure clips:
