Never thought of that but I guess you're right. Taco and the Nissan for mid size. Chevy has that Colorado which until now has been a terrible looking option. New ones might get some looks though.

I emailed my dealer yesterday on this subject because I was planning on buying a 2018. He said they have not heard that Toyota was discontinuing the Pro for 2018.

driverdog, I see a lot of women, young and old driving the Tacoma. Compared to the small list of women wanting the full size Tundra (thumper), she's got her priorities straight, hahaha. I did see a older lady the other day rockin a 3rd gen silver, and it was lifted, looked awesome. I did a double take to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.

my car salesman buddy always says " everyone want a Tacoma: contractor, gardener, surfer, young high school kid, hippies, etc..".
Cannot really say the same about the Tundra.

I am willing to bet the Fleet business helps here. I see a TON of pest control co.'s driving Tacoma's. The Tundra, even stripped to the most basic grade is too expensive for a fleet.

from my experience it seems a lot of people are intimidated by the size of the tundra so they go with the Tacoma I know I did when I got my first Tacoma about 10 years ago I lived in apartments and didn't want to have door dings and squeeze in&out of my parking garage so I went with the Tacoma but once I upgraded to a house I soon after upgraded to a tundra s well

I originally set out to get a Tacoma, but after sitting in one and driving one, I decided on a tundra crew max. I am a big guy and felt a little to tight in the Tacoma. Its a great truck but when I sat in the crew max, I said yup, this is what I want.

Same here. Was actually in the market to get a second tacoma and get a cement pro. Fell in love with the quicksand crewmax when I sat in it and test drove.

Still have my '08 tacoma and as I can see, I have no plans remotely near getting rid of it.

Took one look at the Tacoma and realized I'm to big for them plus wife wanted the crewmax space. ;)

Yep, 6'5" 245lb in a Tacoma is a squeeze, I can tell you that.

I just bought the wife a 2017 rav4 & myself a 2017 tundra sr5 crewmax at sametime this past January. Financed over 6 years on both vehicles at 0%. I couldn't afford not to do this.

Opinion noted. But because I possess a 60 month note doesn't mean I can't afford my vehicle.

Going to the dealer to add the spray on bed liner and the clear film for the front.

Try a local line-x dealer. Bedliner should be a lot cheaper than the dealership by $100 or more

Just going to have them do the liner at the factory. I asked about the clear protection film but the sales guy wasnt 100% sure of the coverage areas. Does any one have the film installed with some feedback. They had a tacoma with the film but it didnt seem to cover much of anything. And it looked like it would peel easily due to it not being "tucked"

My dad has it on his 07 Tacoma. It covers basically the front 1/4 of the front clip. It's just a clear bra. Toyota trucks come with a clear spray of some kind on the rocker panels. The film is mostly to protect from rock/gravel strikes to the front end. His film has held up great but his truck is a pavement princess. Haven't yet seen it on a Tundra

I looked at a Tacoma on the dealer lot last night and wasn't impressed with the area coverage. I will be going with Xpel or a 3M installer. Can't wait!

Last time I checked it was 2017 not the 80s. I paid 1.29% on my 2013 and less than 2 on my 2009.
