@Headlight Revolution I just ordered the Morimoto license plate housing and light replacements from you guys. Is there a video on them? I couldn’t find much about install or anything. Excited to get them.

Quick question for you. Would the puddle lights work or the hooks up be there if I currently do not have puddle lights? The spot/cover appears to be there. It’s a 2020 TRD Sport.

Also, with the promo code I got the LED950 T10/194: Profile Peak Pro LED bulbs for free. Where would you recommend those going? I already have the interior light kit, cargo lights and now the license plate bulbs/housing. Any ideas?

You won't have any wiring in place if you don't have factory puddle lights. You will have to run wire down to your kick panels. I have to do the same thing on my 2020 once I find out which wire colors and connector to tap in to.

I'll keep you posted. It shouldn't be bad at all. I did it on my 2013. I use the Vleds universal puddle lights.

Thanks, I’d appreciate it. I’d love to put some on. Take a bunch of pics of the install process if you do. I’m sure there are a bunch of us that would love to know how.

Anybody know the color? 5k,5500? Looking to do this next. Just swapped a bunch over to VLEDS but also got some morimoto headlights from HR for the wife’s 4Runner and those things are amazing!!

I would love to install the puddle lights on my 2020 SR5 Tundra.
Mine doesn’t come with puddle lights. Has one one figure out how to wire them and the color wires to use?

You just have to run wiring.

I installed universal Vleds puddle lights on my 2018 SR5.
I tapped into my Footwell light socket and wired front footwell lighting and puddle lighting together so lights kick-on with unlock.
In total, i am running 4 LED strips off the factory footwell light. This is the limit i would recommend off this location. The factory wire gauge to the original 1 bulb is pretty small.
If you want to use more LEDs i would recommend using the foot-well light power to control a relay and find a separate 12v power source.
I did it in stages and 1 side at a time.
    Stage 1:
    1. Remove mirror glass
    2. Carefully remove defrost leads from glass
    3. Pull interior sail trim
    4. Remove Mirror
    5. Drill hole in bottom of mirror
    6. clean debris, de-grease and used the supplier adhesion promoter
    7. Route red/black leads through mirror assembly, leave some slack at the hinge area.
    8. Press LED into hole and apply pressure around light to wet-out adhesive.
    9. feed leads through door skin gasket.
    10. Work on mirror is done. re-install to door. re-set the factory couplers
I stopped at this stage as everything is re-assembled with the exception of putting the sail back on. yes there are lead hanging down the door but truck is fully functional

    Stage 2:
    11: Remove doorliner
12: Remove front speaker to gain access to the wiring harness boot that connects from the body to door.
13: Route red/black down the door to the boot mentioned above. Pay attention to the window track and ensure clearance.
Tip: I used zip ties to fasten leads to other harnesses to reduce movement and keep it tight.
Maybe over kill, but i wrapped a layer of electrical tape around wires at ziptie locations to provide and additional barrier and reduce high tension areas in wire coating.
14: Remove Door jamb sill and front lower kick plate. This allows access to the other side of the rubber accordion boot.
15: Go fish. Literally fish the wires through the boot. I used either a really long ziptie to snake through and tape wires to and/or a metal wire withe the end folded back for a rounded point.
This was the most time consuming and frustrating step of the entire install. Be careful and don't force the guide tool. Too much force could pierce the boot or bury the feed tool into the door harness.
16: Once the feed lines get pulled through to the kick panel you are on the home stretch.
17: Re-install speaker, doorliner and sail. all work on doors is complete.
I stopped working here as it was time for a celebratory beer for succeeding in fishing the lines through.

    Stage 3:
Notice the kick plate and door sill are still off. I attempted to run the puddle light negative to a designated ground location in the kickplate. The hope was to only run a + wire any further.
This idea was great in theory but i had a back feed issue where the lights were still getting power. Once the puddle lights kicked on, they wouldn't turn off.
I had to scrap that idea and splice and extend the neg line.
18: Route leads into the instrument panel underneath glovebox.
19: re-install kick panel cover and door sill.

From this point i tapped into my footwell kit.
    See the DIY install thread
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/diy-vled-footwell-lighting-install.36326/#post-1970347

    Summary:
For SR5 or other non-factory puddle trim models you will need to drill holes in the mirror and route wiring.
There is not a harness to tap into that i found in the door. It will need ran back to the cabin.
Install is not difficult just time consuming. I would guess it took me 1.5 hrs per side.
