I placed an order with SD Truck Springs on Dec 17 for 2ea 24-188265 adjustable front springs for 1st Gen Tundras (5100 adj with 0-2" lift).

Since I have not received shipping notification, called SD to check on a possible delivery date.

After a lengthy hold, the advisor told me that Bilstein was to have drop shipped these but they have no stock and are waiting for parts from Germany. Estimated delivery is January 18 for the required parts, and this is the 2nd delivery date as the 1st delivery deadline date has already passed.
The SD guy said that Bilstein had not notified them of the manufacturing issues and this was the first he had heard of their delivery problems, therefore did not notify customers of the delays in delivery.

I cant speak for those specific shocks, but I can say from experience, Bilstein has long been subject to stock availability issues. Im currently on an extended (1mo+) wait for 6112s and 5160s. Its not the first time Ive had to wait either. When I bought my 6112s for the Tacoma the wait was a month or two.

Welcome to the wonderful world of manufacturing and retail in a Covid rocked world. I have product customers ordered in April that im still waiting to be delivered. Vendors all have a multitude of issues from backordered part/pieces to inability to get people.to come back to work to put the shit together.

Any dealer who is saying they didnt expect delays on a drop shipped product in a known hot market with alllll the delays going around this year was wither full of shit or doesnt have a good relationship with their vendors. Next time, try Down South Motorsports they cant be beat for shocks, especially in the San Diego area.

I just ordered a full set of 4600s yesterday and was told the front were out of stock/back ordered.
About a month ago I tried to order from a different store and they were out of stock on the fronts, so I just ordered rears (Black Friday sale), only to have those canceled the next day.
I find it hard to believe they didn’t know there were stock issues since it seems to be an ongoing problem.
The place I ordered from offered a ‘free upgrade’ to Ranchos- I’m just going to wait until the 4600s are available again.

I ordered my 5100’s from Wheelers during their Black Friday sale. It did take a few weeks to get them but they did say they were waiting on shipments. Think I just ordered at the right time.

I ordered some rear 5100’s from Josh @ FirstGenOffroad and they should up three days later. Amazon carries them as well with prime shipping but I wanted to support a small business.
