Trying to decide what to do with the SDHQ cut out plates that were included with sliders. I wanted to not put them on and run bare sliders. My bro thinks I should paint to match my truck and rivet on sliders over the black wrinkle paint.

Right now, sliders are primered and 5 coats of wrinkle paint. I am thinking of spraying primer to prevent rust thru the rivet holes and call it a day. You can see the rivet holes in the front part EE432F1F-1B2E-4661-9155-B32842A47258.jpg

What did you do with yours?

Picture to show us what you mean? Do you mean the small panel with letters "SDHQ" cut out? If so, I didn't know that was not attached before delivery. How does it attach?

P.S. I plan to paint the area under the cut out letters Inferno... which will be easier to do if this adds on after....

Maybe. I will leave them off for now until I decide on what color. Sliders are wrinkle paint black so the wrinkle will show thru the cut out. My only real choices are high gloss or matte cement and black.

You should make a decision before you put the sliders on your truck. Once they're on, you can't get the fourth rivet on because the body of the truck gets in the way of the rivet gun. Atleast it did with my rivet gun.

And SDHQ has a reflective backing for the plate. They have a few choices. I chose black, but when the light hits it, it reflects silver. Pretty cool. IMG_3814.PNG.jpg IMG_3813.jpg

Were you debating about what to do with yours also? 3 rivets are still good i guess. I will try to find closest match to cement and paint them to see how it turns out. Thanks for the pics.

I vote put them on. Paint or use some vinyl underneath to color match. Live close and have seen a few, gives them a custom/classy look.

No. Mine didn’t come with rivets. Thought maybe there were special screws for it. If I knew they were held on with rivets I would’ve put them on before installing. Especially if I knew I couldn’t get the fourth rivet on. Not a big deal for me but that can drive an ocd person insane. But I do like it better with the plate on. Looked a little too generic without it.

I have to agree that the sliders look generic without the plates. If they were aluminum, I would not touch them but they are steel so paint is neccessary. That 4th rivet really messed up my plans tho. Thanks @joonbug

I like the idea of paint match then install with the black back ground that should look sweet

Mine came powder coated from SDHQ and the plate was already mounted. The reflective material they put under the plate matches my Cement truck nicely. My sliders are only a few months old, but after 1 or 2 rainstorms there was a bit of rust coming out of one of the rivets. I just used a rag and a bit of Triflow and wiped the rust off. Should I do anything to prevent rusting in the future?

Tbh, I personally would fix the rust issue before it gets worse. One option is to drill out the rivets and waterproofing what you can then riveting plates back on. I will prob spray primer inside the holes while I decide how to finish them.

Like @Watt maker said, filling the holes and repainting is an option too for me. Options, options, options. I like options but I make bad choices.

I would mount it and then color in the text only your truck color. I think that would look awesome.

Okay, so i have my sliders sprayed with line x. The stickers for the badges adhere to the slider body? Going to powder coat the badges black just for contrast. Should i sand the area flat for the badge install or just pop it on over the line x. Thanks for the heads up on the third rivet
