Blue smoke out of the exhaust.

250000 miles noticed puff of blue smoke out of the exhaust must be valves having build up on it, or are they toast. Any way to flush the engine to clear it up.

 

Sounds like just valve seal , or could be just a little blow by on oil ring. at 250,000 wouldn't even worry. as long as it's only small amount at start up. Doesn't sound like burnt valves or anything major if just a puff of smoke. Just keep eye on oil level to see if burning a lot of oil. Not sure about all the sensors on these things , but it could even be a vacuum leak sucking in a little oil . Maybe switch to high mileage oil.

I don't suppose you're on your original PCV valve? I'd spend the $5-10 that a new one costs and just throw the old one away. That might completely clear up your problem.

 

I noticed mine did this a bit this morning, hadn't driven it in a couple weeks, just moved it out of the way a couple times. A little smokey and smelly but it cleared right up after a bit. I'll check the oil tomorrow but I suspect she just doesn't like sitting around for a while not being driven.

 

I replaced it few months ago.

 

That could be it too been on vacation here for the holidays and have not driven her for a few weeks.

AT205 reseal, and you could try adding 75mL to your oil. This is a very gentle rubber reconditioner, and it might be just what you need to soften up your valve stem seals just a little bit. If you find that this resolves your issue, you can experiment with adding a bit less with your next oil change.

Having just come from owning a Dodge Ram, I used a LOT of AT205.
