    Hi all,
I just picked up a 2008 Tundra SR5 double cab. The first truck I’ve had since I was 18; 20 years ago.
    F3D93C23-9F35-4F42-8AF6-377A3F0E487A.jpg

I bought this as my business has been growing and I need more load capacity. I weld and do machining from home.

The plan is to clean it up to respectable but still be a work truck not a show truck. Eventually it will have some logos/signage.

It spent most of its 100k life on gravel roads and the paint has suffered many chips. No rust though, as we don’t salt in Montana.

I’ll be welding up bumpers, rack, and possibly flatbed.

I’ve just replaced the chrome grill with black, installed some VentShades, and vinyl-wrapped part if the hood. I had the side and rear windows tinted to %20.

I found factory alloys locally for $100 so those will go on soon with some mild spacers then pocket flares.

    05281DEF-951F-4E8A-B8D5-23D21B98156C.jpg

I’ve ordered up a leveling kit from Rough Country, and bought a set of matte black make/model badges as well.

I think that’s all for now. I’ll track my progress and share if people are interested.

Welcome to the site. Glad to have you.

Not a bad for an 2008/100K mile truck. Keep us updated on your progress and the decisions you make.\

Looks like Billings Montana off Rimrock Rd.

Things are slowly progressing. I’ve been sitting on a RC 3-1 spacer lift until my UCAs arrive. I ordered the Freedom Off-road ones. Long-term plan is full lifted struts after my OEMs die.

In the meantime I’ve put in the Smartliner floor mats both front and rear. They fit well and don’t move around.

I’ve also replaced all the badges with satin black ones. The truck was missing half the badges, but I felt like replacing them. I debadged my last few vehicles and wanted something different this time.

I think I’ve decided on tire size. 295/70/18 on the factory alloys I have waiting. Plastidip for now. Gunmetal or black.

Next step is planning the bed rack and bumpers.

I just ordered a shorty antenna and an exhaust tip. Should add about 5hp each, don’t ya think?

You’re off to a quick start- I got my 2007 a month ago and have been chipping away at the easy fixes...the projects I have remaining need deeper and deeper pockets.

The most noticeable thing I’ve done done to mine is adding the backup camera- it’s impossible to see with tinted windows without one- especially at night. I tried using a super bright reverse bulbs in the stock housing, but the difference is negligible. I highly recommend taking that into account when you design your rear bumper and for sure embed a couple lights.

We’re all interested- so keep the updates coming!

I installed my new intake today. We’ll see if anything changes besides the sound.

Towed with the tundra for the first time today. My Son’s project rally car. 160ish miles. Pulled just fine, even passing people.

Had a scare 1/4 way home when all the dash lights started flashing. Turned out to be dirty battery connections.
