:eek2: I'm not that surprised the writing was on the wall long time ago, maybe if Toyota would have offered a lower spec like they do overseas they would have definitely sold more.

It's also the end of line of the 2nd Generation Tundra.

I was very interested in buying a LC and came close — but the utility of the Tundra was far superior for my needs.

There's very little difference for a vehicle to fill between the 4Runner and the Sequioa. That, along with the price they're asking, it's not surprising they don't sell many.

Not a good value in the US market. Way too expensive for what it is.

I have always like the landcruiser but do believe it should be a lower price when the Lexus is around same price range and is more upscale the landcruiser.

Toyota doesn’t know how to sell LC’s in the US. It’s sold as a luxury vehicle but advertised as an off roader. Most people that go off road aren’t going to do so in a vehicle so expensive. Most people that want a luxury vehicle can get something much faster, fuel efficient, and more luxurious at the price range.

    Chicken Tax.

No seriously look it up, also doesn't seem to be a market here in the states according to Toyota.

An all new Sequoia in 2022? I wonder where he got this information. The Tundra has always lead the Sequoia in terms of remodel and refresh, I wonder if they'll both debut the same year...or if he's making generic predictions

I heard a while back Toyota was gonna strip the LC back down to what it used to be; a no frills go anywhere off-roader.
Either they’ve changed course or one of us got bad info :(

We could only hope, Andrew St. Pierre White of 4xoverland has a great video on the stripped down LC200 we don't get in the states.

No same platform as the one we get currently but with vinyl/cloth seats, vinyl floors, basic radio, steel wheels that kind of stuff and still gets the 5.7L.

The 79 is more truck based utilitarian.

Come on now, they couldn't sell the 79 series here. Would not sell enough, people will complain about no tech, rough ride, loud, poor mpg :101010:

Maybe because they pushed the new Tundra off for a couple years from when it was supposed to be all new ?

Correct. People on forums are loud but that doesnt translate to sales. Not in the volumes Toyota needs to sell a vehicle.

Just look at Tacomaworld. People bitching about the transmission non stop. People predicting the end of the Tacoma. How the colorado was going to beat it... Scratch that, the ranger will overtake it. Crap. The gladiator?

Good thing people on forums dont work for Toyota.

I’d be happy tooling around in a 5/6 speed stripped down legend of a vehicle.

Not from us in the forums. Toyota forecasted the Tacoma to sell well, thus ramping up production. Toyota forecasts the 79 series can’t sell in U.S. thus they haven’t offered it.:hattip:

I wished Toyota listened to forums, then we would be buying 79 series and MKIV Supra :bananadance:

I'd sure like to see a new Sequoia come down the pipe. We're itching to get out of our first gen and the new Yukon is beautiful, inside and out.

    I agree with y'all.
I like the thought of a Sequoia but it looks like a Gen 2 Tundra...

I certainly have some fond memories that took place in the back of one of these LCs back in the early 1990s....
