Good morning all, hopefully some of you wise folks could help me out.
I have 2006 Tundra SR5 4WD access cab truck. My carrier bearing went out for my 2 piece rear drive shaft. While replacing it I want to replace all the rear u-joints at the same time due to 220K on truck. Toyota says the center (U-joints) that connect the shafts together are NOT replaceable.
They have installation clips on the outside, why aren't they replaceable? Rock River doesn't even supply them on their site. Everyone just sales the 2 end ones that go to both the differential and transfer case. Am I missing something? Why would you make a drive shaft that has greaseable fitting un-replaceable. Any assistance would be much appreciated

You need to find a driveshaft shop that works with double cardan joints. Heavy truck shops are a good place to start.

There's more involved than just the two u joints but I've never seen a rebuild kit for them.

Easiest thing would be to drop the whole shaft off, have them change all the joints, bearing, and balance it.

Yeah. Heavy Truck Service Shop can do it. Spicer Joints are what you want.
