Sorry If I mess this up, I'm new to the forum. I made risers for my rear seat and I can now fold down my rear seat without the hook mod. I'm not done with the risers yet but it works great for clearance under the seat and now the back of the seat folds down. Not even using the bolts on the back. no issues yet.

Interesting, raising the rear seat seems to accomplish the same thing as shortening the hooks or bending the hoops.
    Nice work BTW

Thanks, I was hoping the risers accomplished both things. Now I can get to the rear battery terminals if needed.

I did a 1 1/2" square pipe that I bought at home depot then cut it down. I did have to get longer bolts for the posts, but it worked great. I'll be driving all day tomorrow but could get more pic's if it will help. To raise it up I put a small bottle jack under the seat with it folded up to raise the back then bolted the front feet down and it was good to go.

This is great. I would like to do this mod tomorrow morning. I also have a pair of 10TW3s and need room for the grilles. Nice set up. Can you post more pics?

Thanks. How tall is your box? I'm building one right now. Does the grille hit the bottom of the seat?

Here's my box, I'm trying to figure out the mounting depth of the sub so that it won't hit the bottom of the seat with the grille. I appreciate your input.

Wow that is a nice box. I did two separate boxes and yes they hit the seat. I actually used them like that till I built an amp rack and that touched. I almost built a box but these worked if I cut some of the seat posts back.

I see 4.5 in depth. Does it hit the grille still after lifting the seats 1.5 inches?

So what are you guys that do this mod using it for? I almost like having the extra height (like when folding the bottom part of the seats up) versus width for storage

I did it so my sub grills don't hit and my amp after the rack I built.

Nice. I looked up the box dimensions and they give me a depth of 6-1/4, that must be with the grille on?

Yeah that is with the grills on. I should have just taken a pic with the tape measure on it. I'm fighting a bit of power drain on longer playtimes. I really need to upgrade my alternator, but that damn thing is under the engine. errr.

Arc KS 600.2 sub amp -- I did not test the true power, but I'm sure it's over the 1200 watts.
Arc 4050 CXLR 4 channel amp -- I do have the spec on this one and I'm doing a little over 800 watts on this one.

I thought the two XS 3400 batteries and 10 fraud NVX cap would hold it longer. I started dipping into the 11's on power Saturday, not good for sub amp. Waiting to see if Mechman 240 goes on sale this month. I'm pissed I did not pick one up around Thanksgiving when they were on sale.

No, the hooks hold the seat in tight, so the rear mounts with the screws are not being used now. I'm glad I didn't do the hook mod before this. I did sound deaden the whole back wall.

I only have an answer for #2 if it helps you sleep at night… found it elsewhere on the forum AFTER I did the mod to put a grab handle on. It was for a NHTSA score increase (sorry, I meant your own safety ) so your head doesn’t hit it during a forward-force impact.

I think the shotgun-side full dash airbag is bigger volume and helps prevent that. I also found an airbag in the driver’s side a-pillar when I was installing the oh-sh!t handle. Although… every time I look at it now, I think about my head hitting it and drive safer.
