I wish I owned this 1794. It sold in 2010 to a private collector for 7.85 million dollars! You did say post a 1794. Lol

Love those trucks. I'd take a 1794 over a TRD PRO.

This is mine. I LOVE it. The TRD exhaust is perfect!! I know it's not popular on here to say you like chrome, but I admit it. I like the chrome on this truck. I'm even going to get a B&W chrome all chrome hitch for it!! Hope you folks all have a Merry Christmas!!!!

Late to the post but here is my 1794. I too like a little chrome and I feel it belongs on the 1794. dd8b130df53d98a5d6b6bdf7099c3734_ca61d57bc75105adccf40f81bb3db2bda186cd93.jpg31ce7fd9a86736f954ee5e1f745fd6cc_a3869c1b2dfe81f717f8290099ee45802287c3b8.jpg

Some nice rides, but I fear we all have some unresolved childhood issues lol. I'm new to the site, an upstate NY resident at least until I get my pension secured then I'll be moving out of this God forsaken SJW snowflake liberal overtaxed BS state and taking my armory with me before they try to pry them from my cold dead hands.

I've got about 200 miles my 2017 1794 CM so needless to say I'm just getting started. I've owned a 2008 limited and a 2012 platinum then went to the dark side when I felt the need to buy a diesel, definitely happy to back in a worry free ride.

Additions thus far are the Pro grille and color match hood bulge, grille surround, mirror caps and door handle, ordered from Roman at Toyota of cool springs, way easy install about 20 minutes to swap em all out, took longer to un package. Bumper end caps are next on the list (not sure what it is but all that chrome was just getting to me, no offense to each there own) thankfully just front need to be addressed as the rear are already color matched. Thinking I should probably just find a too close to call wrap and be done with it, stone chips and deer strikes are a guarantee so I can't justify an additional 4bones on some painted plastic.

Just installed the Bedrug bed liner (no I'm not an old man who doesn't use his truck for anything more than a Cruz to the farmers market), OEM tri-fold tonneau cover and Amp research power steps.

I'm still researching suspension, wheel/tire options, most of the threads seem to point to Toytec Boss as I'm not looking to sacrifice on/off-road performance nor preclude the use of automatic car washes by jacking it up and revealing to everyone the actual size of the operators member, a little mystery is always better right lol. Anyway I've been there already with my recently departed 2015 High Country diesel that I installed a 6" BDS lift on and 37" Nittos wrapped around Fuel Pump flat black rims. That truck was 7' 4" tall when I was done and couldn't use car washes or parking garages which unfortunately my daughter requires with all her hospital admissions in Boston, all show no go and I surely won't be repeating that mistake.

I'd like to avoid the cab mount chop and hacking up the wheel well liner so I'm pretty sure with the 3/1 Boss radflo 35's are out of the question and if that isn't already enough to consider, do I go with an extra leaf or shackles, I occasionally tow an enclosed utility trailer and landscape trailer but not sure it would be worth sacrificing the smoother ride for an occasional heavy haul.

Good news is my wife is very understanding, but that I'm sure is always subject to change. Anyway it's nice to see that I'm not the only one with a "problem" that borders on obsessiveness.

I love these 1794s and I like what you guys did with them.

For your application, I would recommend not touching the suspension at all. Typical suspension 'upgrades' are for off-road performance and they tend to ride firmer. The best ride probably is with stock non-TRD shocks. You may even consider downgrading to them if your primary concern is the ride quality.

With the stock suspension, you could just change out your tires to 275/70/18 (1 inch taller than stock tire) and see if you like the look. If not, then you could change out the wheels. I used stock tires on 18x9 18mm offset wheels for a while before upsizing to larger tires. No body mount chop will be needed for that set-up even without any lift. There was no rubbing anywhere. Even with stock tires, 18 mm offset wheels push the tires out quite a bit beyond the fender. If you don't like them to stick out too far, stay within 30-35 mm offset.

By the way, with 3.5/1.5 OME lift and 295/70/18, my truck does not fit in my garage.

Totally agree, I would be looking to gain some ground clearance and ability to run a bit larger tire without sacrificing too much of the stock ride quality as is common with suspension lifts that just drop the lower CA and rear blocks. Certainly the stock TRD is a much softer ride than my Platinum which was better for higher speeds on the highway but coming from my lifted Duramax the TRD sits a bit too low for my tastes and intended uses of the truck. I figured a total of about 4.5 inches of lift between the larger tires and Boss or similar suspension would be more than adequate for my desires and needs, as I spend a combination of use both Off Road and as a daily driver.

As far as your garage clearance issues I surmise you have a standard garage door that's 7' tall, with an actual clearance of less than 7'?. I built my garage to accommodate 8' tall overhead doors and my last truck with the 6" suspension lift and 37" tires cleared with a few inches to spare, but that truck stock was much taller than my yota so clearance there isn't an issue with the set up I'm considering, just want to stay under 7' tall for the other reasons mentioned, what's the tallest point on ur ride with current setup?

I too would likely go with the 295 70 18's so I figured with the correct offset they should clear without any further modification, so I appreciate the confirmation that ur does with no issues. The only hesitation with that tire size is tire options, I've had good luck running the BF AT KO2's in the past but I haven't found that that size is available in an 18" rim size and would have jump to a traditional oversized 35" tire which based on what I've read on the lift forums won't clear without the CMC and significant offset. I ran the Nitto trail grapplers on my Duramax but the compound was very soft and didn't wear well, half life reached with less than 10k on em, but that truck was much heavier than the yota and I tend to drive it like I do my patrol car when on the highway lol, good and bad, don't need to worry about citations but tread wear is significantly increased.

Did you go with the Toytec Boss lift? I was considering the radflo they have specifically for the Tundra, as the rob ends of the front coil overs appears to be much more robust, seen a couple videos of lower shock rod ends fracturing at that old point on the base toytek Boss setup, not sure if that is common but the radflo appears to have a different rod ends based on the pictures I've seen.

Did you opt for the shackles or add a leaf? I understand the shortfalls of the blocks so my consideration would between shackles or add a leaf to get the increased height in the rear without altering the driveshaft Cv angles significantly. Did you install the carrier drop? Doesn't make sense to me as that would alter the angle at the transfer case???? Thoughts???? I figure if there was an issue with vibration I'd add the spacers and see how it goes from there.

Also regarding your specific rim offset, how much did that push your wheels out beyond the fenders? U running fender flares? I would also likely be installing UCAs, probably the TC uniball UCAs available through the Toytec site, did u keep stock and if so were u still able to get the alignment close?

I have the OME 614 kit with add-a -leaf (I do not like blocks). I did add a set of UCAs. I added different drop but not carrier drop. I have Bushwacker pocket style fender flares and my tires are very close to the fender flares. When I upsized the tires (Nitto Trail Grapplers are larger than spec), the tires rubbed a bit at the front liner. I just pushed it in and re-screwed the bottom screws and all is good. No CMC.

The truck has no vibration and everything is smooth. Even on long distance trips, it is very comfortable.

It seems more manufacturers are making tires at 295/70/18. Cooper STT Pro is a new comer and it seems everytime I turn around, there is another brand (perhaps not that fast, but . . . ). I like Nitto Trail, but STT Pro is in close contention for the next time.
