thats how it always goes! honestly the easiest way (Assuming you have the means to do this) is get the sequoia axle stripped of all the suspension stuff and weld on the correct tundra perches and shock mounts. as for the parking brake cable stuff, SOS makes their own cables for their kit. might be someone to call about having some made for sequoia backing plates.

@evilrb can you post a pic of the back side of the hub/backing plate piece on the sequoia axle? The part where the axle bolts in? Kinda for clarification of what Mr. Lord is talking about.

I just received this sway bar yesterday and ran into an issue of the abs line and mounting tab on the passengers side axle sitting right where the bracket for the SB goes. So I was advised to basically bend it out of the way.

Also, I read that you didn't have to drill. There is a location on the passenger's side where I can fit the bolt through but the drivers side, at the same location, has some other mounting tab there in the corresponding hole. I removed the bracket only to find that there is a nut welded on the other side of the frame making the hole just a bit too small to fit the bolt. In your pic above, is that the drivers side? It looks like it and that mounting tab is just what I was talking about. I have to go out and look at the location where you mounted that bolt.

I can picture someone trying that and an axle shaft flying out on the highway. Lol

Here is the drivers side frame where the sway bar mounting bolt should be fitted to the frame. The removed bracket is the location I thought I would use to mount but there is a nut welded on the other side. I am thinking I need to drill a new hole. no?

If thats where your new mounts are suppose to be, then wallow out (make bigger) that hole with a Unibit or Regular Drill Bit. Make it happen!

This will cause the drivers side of the sway bar to be mounted slightly (the thickness of the nut) higher.

    No problem?

This is something you’ll need to determine, as I’ve never installed your model sway bar. I’d need to see and feel the components to assess the Mojo. Any way to tap that nut off with a chisel and little sister sledge? Or, Tap the hole larger and try a dry fit with the nut prior to remove? Might need that surface flat for accessory washer?

    OK midnight thoughts...

Been thinking since I have the sequoia diff and it comes with the 4.10 gears will the front diff with matching gears just drop right in?

I found a set of 4.56 that I'm looking at but if it's cheaper and easier than I'm fine with the 4.10's.

I'm running 285-70-17 so it's not that big of a deal.
    (Yes, I just realized they're 32.7)
I would like to run 33's but not a big deal if it saves me money.

    What do you guys think?
Remember that I drive mostly freeways around here.

Lsd, 5100’s all around, lift springs, 1inch rear block, extra leaf, 13wl caliper swap, slotted drilled rotors, ss brake lines, 27mm sway bar, rear addco sway bar,
did your addco rear sway come with that ubolt to mount it above your rear axle or did you buy that separate?

finally bought it and getting ready for install.

Came with it, but I had to buy ubolts for the add-a-leaf.

Might as well update cause, really I forgot:rolleyes:

I've been researching and measuring and a buddy needed the axle so I hooked him up with it.
And the Sequoia backing plate is different than my Tundra.
But can't confirm if it's because I have non-ABS vs ABS or just in general.

Thought about just welding the brackets and making the Sequoia axle fit bu in the end, I talked to SOS and told him what I had in mind.
So after eating ramen to save the money and some shipping delays I got a SOS kit from them with the specific parts I needed since I have all the sequoia brake parts and lines.

So I'm doing their backing plate and parking cable kit.
Wa half the cost and only got the parts in yesterday after a delay on their end.

I'll be doing a full write up when I install it.
I only have one more thing that I'm waiting on and it should be go time!

I already got rid of the axle but here are the pictures I have

As empty_lord said, the plates are not the same and the Sequoia ones are off-center while my non- ABS plate bolts are squared.

The pictures aren't the best but if you look at the b olts you can tell.

I just swapped out my driver's side rear axle on my sequoia last night and have the old one sitting in the bed of the tundra. What do you want me to take pics of?

Just in case anyone is interested in the ADDCO 2181 1’ rear sway bar kit, here is the PDF of the install sent to me.
