    Rumor has it, the truck that Toyota dyno tested in 2005 was black, and the truck that they dyno tested in 2006 was white. To prevent creating an issue of trying to keep up with the high demand for black trucks, Toyota seeded a story about a change in SAE measurement practices.

    Pretty sure I read that on wiki before.

    2005 was the last year for the older p rating system. 2006 SAE Updated it’s testing standards. The engines make the same power, it’s just different testing.
    2005 Avalon had 280hp, 2006 had 268, every car was affected by it
