New to Tundra, I take delivery of my 2003 Limited 4x4 StepSide tomorrow. I snapped some pictures while it is at a dealership getting a recall performed and noticed that there must be an option my truck does NOT have.

Wondering if you know what would normally go where this blank is? This is on the left side of the steering wheel closest to the driver door.

Thank you in advance for your help!

On my 06 Tundra Limited the button all the way on the left is the rear sliding window control but my middle buttons are different than your buttons. I also have a blank button all the way on the right. May be different on a 03.

Thats the button that applies black paint to the exterior and makes your truck faster.

Mine doesn't lower like that I do have a power sliding rear window but it goes side to side and is small square like the old days. The button for my electric rear sliding window is the one just right of my red arrow and next to the dash light dimmer knob. That rear window on yours sure would be nice!

    Thanks for the help!!

On a 2003 its probably the heated mirror switch.

I think '03 is when the foglight switch was moved to the left hand light stalk on the steering wheel.

You already have the rear windooor switch

Yes my fog light is on the stalk and rotates like the headlight on/off. I don't think I have heated mirrors so that very well could be it!

    Thanks for the help!

My rear sliding window also has a defroster but I'm not sure where the button is. Haven't ever needed to defrost the rear window.

Yeah. The 2002 is basic in it beauty. Simplistic design built for the ages. That button is a Fog Light button on the 2002. The button between it and the Dimmer Dial is a hard blank that looks like your pictured arrowed one on the 2002, as well.

Power side-sliding rear window in the 2003 model, who knew? Was this the first year for this option or does it go back to 2000?

I need to read up on these extended cabs...

I think 2000-2003 was only the regular cab, and access models. I thought the 2004 was the start of the double cabs with the full rear down window.

The limited access cabs had a power slide rear glass. Instead of having the latch you could press a button and open/close the rear center glass.

Very similar to the 3rd gen tacomas rear power slide window.

I don't see the icon in the rear view mirrors on the door that is common on heated mirrors, I bet that is what is missing there.

Does anyone know if that can be retro fitted to a truck without them? My truck began its life in Florida and now lives with me in Utah and there is occasion to need the heated mirrors in my climate.

Thanks all for the replies and assistance!

You won’t see them but that doesn’t mean you don’t have it. I have heated mirrors and they turn on when I push the button for the rear defrost. Not having rear defrost may mean you don’t have heated mirrors but someone with more knowledge will need to answer that...

I don't have a power slider but I have the heated mirrors.
