Hey everyone, figure new member area is best place to introduce myself.

Not a Tundra owner right this minute. About to be.

Honda family currently. On my 3rd, had civic, accord, and CRV i have had the longest with 250k going strong. Wife is on her second, odyssey now a 2013 Pilot.

But I want a truck. Honda doesn't make a truck, well not a real one anyway.

Have been wanting a Tacoma since the new generation came out. However, married with 2 boys. We camp, mountain bike, kayak (not moab or Colorado grade stuff).

Did test drives of Tundra and Tacoma same trip. Tundra is much smoother ride, which was hard to understand how its a truck lol.

After now a second trip, going over thee cab, bed space, etc, Tundra is what we need, Tacoma would be miserable for the boys to be in the backseat when I can't even get in it, and thats the biggest can option they make. Tundra big crew max is insane, too much. Double cab, perfect. More bed space too.

So as much as I don't want to choke down another 8-10k, and having 2 test drives in a Tundra (need to test drive a TRD yet), its going to be perfect for what I want to do.

Now I'm just in limbo waiting for my check from insurance (which is why I can convince myself to buy a brand new truck) for getting hit by a drunk driver last may. Don't want a huge truck payment so forced to be patient lol.

But only thing I know is unless there are NONE LEFT when I get that check, I will have an Army Green Tundra very soon! They have 4 at my dealership right now.

Not if, only when. The only if is whether there is an Army Green to be had in the next few weeks when I get my insurance check.

And pics will come, have plans for rack set up in the bed to be able to haul everything without needing a trailer (till I build a new teardrop style camper)

If I may speak as a 2021 owner myself of about two months:

I love my new truck. However, I now kinda wish I would have waited until I could have seen the 4th gen before fully committing. Seeing the teasers and the concepts and the whole V6 thing I think I'd still rather have the 3rd gen, but I'd hate to buy the 2021 just to immediately want a 2022 after your purchase has inconveniently depreciated $4-5k. That's of course only if you think the '22 would be something you'd be into.

The 2021 is sick, you can't go wrong. I get separation anxiety when I have to leave it for work. Every time the V8 starts up I can't help but stifle a smile. I freakin love this thing and you will too.

Just something to think about :)

Congratulations! Just came from a Honda Accord into a Tundra myself. Every time this thing starts up I get all giddy. You will love it. Welcome from Pennsylvania.

Welcome from the wet side of WA.

I look at it a different way...probably because I had a 2008 with 298k miles on it. I would NEVER buy the first model year of a new generation - not from Toyota or any other maker. Let them get some production units out and finish working out the kinks. On the other hand, I had a 2008 with over 298k miles on it (yes, I said that twice), and my new 2021 is basically the same truck aside from some changes to the interior and the front end. All the things that kept my truck going like the day I bought it are the things that still make my 2021 tick. So I'm looking at a proven set-up that I expect to drive for another 300k...

Good point. I'm not into the V6 so the 2022 ain't for me. Just wanted to throw it out there!
