I would like to hear what are the some ways to paint over chrome pieces? I know the topic doesn’t have a right or wrong answer but i’d like to hear your folk’s ideas.

    thank you!

For smaller jobs...interior parts...light coats with this worked well for me.
Put a few light coats of poly over it.

You know, for all the shit people talk on it, I've found plastidip on chrome has held up well in my experience. I had done the chrome grill on my Subaru in black plastidip. It saw the track, auto-x or canyons 2-3 times a week. I never had any peeling or lifting. It stayed black for over 30k miles until I sold it.

rough it up a little bit with some sand paper and spray it down. if you're talking the bumper caps, i'd powder coat those. it will hold up much better

Wow thats sounds a lot cheaper than usual. They did your front grille, front bumpers and rear bumpers i’m guessing?

front bumpers and grille surround. for some strange reason, the rear bumpers were already color matched

Do you have the blind spot monitor package? If so, they come paint matched from the factory.

The chrome reflects or interferes with the sensors emissions

Whaaaaaat???? Why on earth was the front not painted? The dealer I bought it from had several Tundras with only the rear bumpers painted.

Only the BSM/RCTA sensors, the other proximity sensors dont pass through the bumper.
