Hey guys I bought a new rack and pinion and when I was installing it i don’t know if this is suppose to sit flat or it’s suppose to be like that in the picture, I didn’t take that part off so I don’t know how it sits, it’s the steering rod to the rack and pinion is what the picture is.

Sorry I don't know for sure, but it does seem like it should sit flat.

Do you mean how far down the rack splines the joint should be?

There should be a 'notch' on the rack input shaft that the pinch bolt should slide through, just make sure the bolt fits into that notch.
