2000: Bilstein 5100's 16x8 589's with 265/75/16 and 1.25" spacers Flowmaster 50 series over the axle dump Pioneer touchscreen with backup camera Full interior and dash LED conversion Trailer brake controller with 7 pin Bedliner coat bumpers & trim ARE topper 2019: ARE topper with full Bedrug kit and Vortex rack TRD shifter 1.25" wheel spacers (I like to live dangerously) Red tow hooks for that +15 grip bonus
Diesels are a different story altogether. The old 7.3 Powerstrokes were good motors. When they introduced the 6.0 it was grenade with the pin pulled from the dealer. The old Dodge Cummins 5.9's were great too. Today's Diesels are overly complicated too. Reliability is being sacrificed for mileage and towing specs.

I propose we raise the bar even higher....... thermostat gasket! No more million mile claims if you've changed the thermostat gasket.
More seriously though. Numbers-matching engine, chassis, and body are good enough criteria for me.

    Maybe I will...

I owned a BMW before this and I haven't been the same since... :p:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Just going by the standard as to what I've read, that Toyota actually judges these trucks by.

kinda makes sense to me only because it also tells you what has been touched and what the factory did right which is kinda the point to me.

So if the factory did the assembly and designed it right from the get-go, that is what is impressive about our trucks, especially after all the time and abuse we do to them.

As I said previously, anyone can replace parts every few thousand miles if they really wanted to get to that million-mile mark, but wouldn't be as impressive as original factory parts getting there with as little work as possible.

I have almost 335k now and with the work I have planned it just got me thinking if it's still as impressive to have a high mileage truck if everything was replaced.

Still on the original engine, tranny, axles, etc... with only maintenance done, but the whole suspension and engine bolt accessories bolt-ons are basically brand new OEM or upgraded.

just quarantine overthinking I guess... hence how my "Money Saving Truck" turned into a full-on project...:D:D:D:D
