The doorbell has a cam built in. You'll need an additional cam for the back

So Sunday 27th of November my 1997 Mercedes's was stole from our driveway. I did what we are all told from day one. "never leave your keys in your car" With that being said the footage I supplied to our local PD from our security cameras was enough to track the jack ass down! They found the car tonight and said it's surprisingly in great shape and I can pick her up next week. Love commuting in the tundra but 100+ miles day is hard on the wallet. Moral of the story invest in a camera system protect what is yours!!!

Often our garage and backyard needs to be under surveillance, especially when we have valuable items like vehicles, sporting goods, patio furniture and above all for the whole property. A visible surveillance camera would cause the intruder to think twice about attempting to break-in. Check for the best three locations for the cameras to be installed http://protectionplus.ca/blog/three-best-locations-install-security-cameras/ . Correct strategic placement of cameras would not only ensure security of your property but also assured tracking in case of any break-ins.

Just found out that the neighbors daughters car was stolen from out front of their house last Tuesday. I looked back at my video but her car was not in range of the doorbell cam.
I think the car was an older Honda Civic. Easy steal i believe. Sucks that it is right at home. Glad that i now have some securtity.

I will install the stick up cam next. Not sure if i want it in the back yard or somewhere to see the rest of the front of the house.?????

There are 2 kinds of Ring product...the regular Ring Doorbell and the Ring Pro....Ring PRO needs a very STRONG wifi signal to work properly....just FYI

I just had a package stolen from my front porch last week. Gave the security video to the cops. I got clear images of the young woman walking up to the porch, but my cameras have such a wide field of view I could not come close to reading her plates from either angle. I have an 8 camera Swann setup with DVR that record at 1920x1080, paid $400 from Costco on sale. I may add an 8mp adjustable optical zoom IP camera out front just to grab license plates. Thief got my $15 Chinese rubber case for my Samsung tablet, Amazon sent me a new one.

I think thats the way to go for getting license plates...I cant make plates out either unless they are parked. My system will support two ip cams so think thats what i will do. I have 8 cams out front in all diffiernt directions.

Yes it does. Turns the video black and white if it's not good enough. If I would have known I probably would have gone with the reg one

I plan to do something after Christmas for our place. I haven't did my research yet, but this is one I plan on looking into.

I have a nest outdoor camera at my house. Super easy to set up and use. $100 a year for cloud storage for the past 10 days. had it about a month and it's been entertaining to watch people without snow tires sliding down the hill, know when UPS delivers etc. can set up alert zones, talk 2 ways and access live from my phone. We have people who think our driveway is a public parking lot when it snows. Great to see where they go. Quality is good and caught these moose a while back.

Set up my ring.com stickup cam in the front to capture the driveway instead of the rear of the house. Figured if someone was to break in they would have to go though the side of the house or front. This angle will catch it all.

I also bought Arlo this weekend and is great for a basic system but the functionality is not there compared to wiring and DVR. I will be running Arlo until I install a better system and returning it.
