You might have to do some lift in rear. But I think you should just get the front up where you want it. Then see how it looks and drives and go from there. That's what I did and mine didn't seem to have as much rake stock as some. With 2.5 in the front and 1.5 rear. I have less than an inch of rake.

@LOTSOFTOYS would've likely noticed a bad ball joint during alignment.

If u think something is rubbing, bring it back in. I can throw it on the alignment rack and release the turn plates. That'll allow us to turn the wheels freely with the vehicles weight on the tires.

Not necessarily, the big tires had only been on for a maybe 100 miles when he did the alignment. Things could have loosened up after that.

It doesn't feel like anything's loose, just a thought. And if something was rubbing you would think it would still be noticeable with trac off.

The more I think about it, the more I can't see how it can be the knuckle. The unloaded part of the tire would have to be expanding inward over an inch. Maybe the tie rod end, we didn't look at that. That part of the tire might be expanding from diving into the corners. I'll try my grease pencil on that tomorrow.

I just remembered now that my coworker said that his Tundra has been doing something similar. He was thinking in his case it's a bearing issue and may well be. I'll have him give me ride and also get under and take a gander to see if there is anything obvious. I already told him to take it to the dealer.

Haven't done anything but look under my truck yet. It's definitely not the tie rod they are well inside the wheels on our trucks. Duh! Grasping at straws again. I really don't think it's rubbing on anything. But I think I'll go ahead and get spacers. $180 from another member shipped is pretty good. I can always re-sell them if I don't need them.

The tires showed clear indicators of rubbing. The proof was in the pudding.

The marks in the blue stuff didn't change after driving it more and looking at where on the tire it looks like it's rubbing. The blue coating could have gotten scuffed in handling. Maybe I'll rotate them, take pics before hand and see if there are similar marks on the other two.

It's not logical that if it is a rubbing issue that it would still do the exact same thing with the stock tires that were not a problem before the switch to big tires. Somehow those big tires messed something up. Remember that there is absolutely no noise or any indication of rubbing with the trac off.

I guess I'll grab the spacers just to eliminate the chance that there is a slight rub that is just enough to set off the trac.

Joey why would you spend $200 on spacers to correct a rubbing problem that might or might not be there. Buy ya this cheap USB bore scope and set it up on tire you think maybe rubbing. Not trying to be a ahole just $12 vs $200. Unless you are planning on running spacers, then disregard. Just trying to give you some more options. $_1.jpghttp://m.ebay.com/itm/401191563765

    Good luck Joe

I'll look into that, no I don't really want to spend money on spacers that I would rather not put on my truck. I think I should save that to$ towards having @LOTSOFTOYS diagnose what the problem is. Then fix it.

Like I said, I thought about the possibility of the tire hitting the knuckle more last night and realized that unless something is serious loose. There is no way that the center of the sidewall is expanding out well over an inch. I still appreciate Sean coming all the way to help me and do value his opinion. But both front wheel bearings would have to be completely gone for the tire to be hitting the knuckle. The wheels spin on a fixed axis, the wheel bearings are riding on a fixed point on the knuckle. When you turn the steering wheel the knuckles and wheels turn together. There should be no change in the orientation of the two. Plus, if I did have loose bearings. It would be quite apparent.

I smeared grease pencil on the knuckles and no red on the tires and none missing off the knuckles. Although this was after letting all the air out of the bags(previously at 5 psi) and airing the tires down to 32 psi. The trac never went off when I drove it. I also pulled the wheels off and checked all the torque specs. One nut on each side of the coil overs was a little loose and the the nut on the pass side top of shock was a little loose. I don't think any of them were loose enough to have been moving around. Next I'll try putting the air bags back to 5 psi and see if that causes it to do it again. If not, I'll air the tires back up. If it still doesn't come back then maybe it was just a slightly loose coil over mount.

I also noticed what looks like small heat fractures in the pass side brake rotor. The brakes feel the same as they did when I bought it and the pads have a ton of life left. But there is a possibility that I could have a slightly warped rotor.

I'm going to say a warped rotor sounds more like the culprit than your truck now liking Ridge Grapplers

Im just flabbergasted that a tire shop didn't have the "specific experience" to check for rubbing.

I really don't think there is any rubbing. Especially now with smaller tires.

Have to wonder if the crew in the bays aren't just told what to do rather than trouble shoot.

It could just be a coincidence and the rotors where ready to go and the added strain of the big tires finished them off. Big tires and mountain roads can wreak havoc on brakes, I hope thats all it is. Gonna have@lotsoftoys look at it in a couple weeks. I'm tired of chasing my tail on this.
