What was the output of the old alternator in volts? What about the battery standing voltage reading and load test readings? That is a good place to start to help identify the problem.

It would jump from the alt 13.5-14.2

Done two different load test in the battery test good

Volts over the coarse of two days not started was 12.6

Tested for draws not showing any

I've covered just about every test you can with a multi meter it all shows good

Just a few, more to come
seems strange, believe my truck runs about 700 RPM at idle IIRC with lights on. Not really sure where to point you for getting yours fixed though

It may, or may not work but I remember reading something similar to this and he ended up replacing the battery and it as good to go.

Do yourself a huge favor... goto autozone or any like that... have them do a battery/alt/starter test on the truck... you playing with a mutli meter is pointless unless you get the heavy stuff(amps) out of the way first..

Make sure they test diodes and the regulation of voltage too in the alt. Some can check the sine wave off the alt..

Check your ground cable make sure you have a zero loss on ground.. ecm computers today demand it or they play games very easy...

Thank you to every one that replied I found out today that these trucks have a memory for just about everything but the radio and have to relearn all the set points the truck today has ran great rpms staying inline volts have surged here and there but not like before to answer some of your questions no there's no lights on and no soft codes either the battery is good when load tested I don't use advance or auto zone as a reliable source when diagnosing a issue yes they give you a ballpark idea I took apart the old alt and tested the diodes I found a few bad and weak so now that the truck is getting the constant juice it needs I think I'm in the clear ??? Again thank you all for your help....
