I'm might be able to get away with out a cmc. I moved the truck on my driveway today and didn't hear rubbing but it could be because the exhaust was pretty loud after starting it up. I'm gonna try to chalk the cab mount and drive it tonight and see.

I'm gonna be disappointed if I really need to do a cmc because then I could have gone with 35x12.5. There's always a next set I guess.

If you gonna chop, do 37"s.

And it finally snowed, I love the fact I can disable traction control FULLY in this truck.

I went from a tacoma to Tundra and I will never look back

    Truck looks good!

Yeah, I really didn't want to chop it that's why I went with 295/70 so I'm gonna be bummed if have to. I bought my tires trough Costco carryout so I don't think they take returns. But I finally got a chance to drive mine last night and I don't think I'd need a cmc. I want to say that it's rubbing on the corner of the fender liner next to the cab mount. I'm going to try to move that back and chalk the cmc next time I drive it.

I'm also a Taco convert. I loved my Taco, but it can't compare to my Tundra.

Congrats on the new Tundra......killer color!

That’s a sharp looking Tacoma. What plans do you have for the tundra?

    Haha

Drove the truck to get lunch and did a quick chalk test on the cab mount and removed the front mud flaps. Turns out I'm gonna need to get it chopped since it's rubbing on the corner. I should have gone with 35s lol

You mean 37s :) I think KM3 37x12.5r18 are "only" 36.5, and similar weight to the 295's already.

This is just a question based on curiosity because we don't require front plates in TN. Is that considered legal where you live? You can't really even read that front plate. Or would it just depend on the cop?

Love that bumper BTW. It looks outstanding!

    Thanks
I have been pulled over twice since I’ve had it on ( it’s been over a year, had it on a previous truck) and neither officer said anything about the plate, both remarked it was a nice bumper tho :D

Yeah, up here it wouldn’t fly. It has to be vertical and below the front of the hood or they’ll ticket you.

You are chopping already, might as well go all out, the km3 in 37s caught my eyes cause of this video

    https://youtu.be/fcMhA_h7cCg

Just did its first winter chore of the season, this thing drives so much better in snow compare to the ram, on same tires I would have a hard time to get up a hill when snow hits the ground when there's about 1ft of snow drift, this thing just goes, no drama.

Funny, I've driven the last 2 years in Utah without a front plate and had no idea that was illegal. Oops.

Thanks for the reply. Truck looks great. You’ve definitely passed the Quicksand and that was tough to do. Messaged about the bumper to keep on topic.

37s would be nice but that's down the line for me.

Still a bit jealous you got BSM/sensor in Canada.

You can use aftermarket system, there's quite a few out there, a friend of mine added one to his older Discovery and works pretty well, you can mount the warning lights either outside or inside the cabin.

Ouch. You are a better man than I. I'd be inside Walmart asking for the security footage for their parking lot.

People are pigs (no offense to pigs) who would sideswipe a car and then run away.

Thought about security footage but I can’t pin down which place it happened. Plus I’m currently moving on from a shit show and I haven’t felt this good in years, didn’t feel like ruining it.
Side note my son had his Tacoma hit at Sams Club about a year ago, took an act of God to get footage, police not interested and the individual that hit his truck denied even being there. My son took the insurance money got the bumper he wanted and moved on.
I agree with you 100% though, people are PIGS.

    That sucks.

I had a similar mark (a little higher) on my 2008...only I was the one that put it there, and within a year of having the truck. It involved a guard rail on a loading dock at work - I think everyone that ever parked in that spot had the same mark on their truck. Several times I thought about getting it touched up, but left it as a reminder to myself that shit happens.

Good to hear you're on the upswing from whatever shit show you've been through... People can be pieces of shit, but I've also found that sometimes it's not worth getting my BP up.

Now, you could look at this as an opportunity to upgrade that front bumper. @cctxquicksand has a really nice one!
