If the OCM52 is applied do we need to get a revised tune from you?
    Thanks John

    Yes,

but I don't have one yet, sorry. I just got ahold of this version ECU. It's a brand new version from toyota. I'm doing some testing on my truck to see if it's worthwhile to get all 0CM51s to update

Mat, please include me in this beta.

I’m familiar and have been flashing Tacoma’s with VF for awhile now and am ready to tune my 2020 Tundra!

Do you need 2021 ECU dumps still? I just picked up a 2021 last night and have VFT already.

    Hello all!
Has anyone else had difficulty contacting Ovtune? I have sent multiple emails inquiring about a tune for my 2016 Tundra S/C non flex fuel not getting any response. Any thoughts?

it's not an issue with reading the ecu or flashing it. it's related to the new Tundras key-less / push button stuff.

We figured out 2019s when nobody else could, we will figure out 2020s. It's been practically *a few weeks*...

    working on updating it :)!

also guys I emailed out tons of vF keys, if you ordered it (the free link) double check your email / spam folder for your master key if you haven't found / got it yet.

That is great news. Are you ready for 2021 ECU Dumps? I haven't even read the ECU yet so I'm not sure if it's a new ID or not.

We are picking up our 2021 Tundra Dev truck this week, so we will be unlocking the ECU ourselves.

This will allow us to have dev trucks for older versions (07-17) and newer (18-21).

COVID, school closures and some software bugs really really screwed us for dev time on the tundra this year, but going into 2021 we are "COVID ready" (aka have everything setup for my kids school, work setup in case of lock downs again, etc) so it won't be so cumbersome on our dev time.

Sorry for sounding like a noob, I've tried to read this thread and the one on TacomaWorld hopefully someone don't mind answering as I tried emailing but have yet to see a reply.

So from what I gather, I buy the VFtuner pass and file credit, then I get a base map? what if I'm not confident to make adjustment myself? will there be remote tuning after uploading data logging?

I saw the dyno chart for octane 93, what about octane 87?

And how do I buy it? I've been on the website but I don't see much option

Kk. We just picked up our 18+ dev mule (truck). So we are working on solving it asap
    (Does not affect 18/19s).

Currently the tune pack (as shown on site) isn't for 2020s yet so anyone with a 2020 please don't buy a tune pack until it's out of beta and full support.

Expected to finalize release for 2020/2021 by end of month.
we have our own forum forum.vftuner.com where it will be easy to find information / development stuff. (it's bare bone right now)

    07-17 support is continuing.

Meaning what? While I think it’s awesome that newer years are being completed, could you give any indication to what’s happening with these years and the appointments that were supposed to happen? I do understand the challenges you’ve gone through with developing this and respect that, but after a year and a half, I’m about ready to throw in the towel. Sorry for the negative post.

We are still doing those appointments and have been the whole time.

Throw in the towel because of what? the Directshift or gearlock? Some ECUs it simply is not working on. I have tried but there isn't anything I can do because it just won't work. That doesn't take away from the actual TUNE parts (engine, shifting, ignition, fuel, etc) is done and has been done for a long time.

For ECUs it isn't working on there is nothing that I can do except put it on our list to investigate further.

But NOBODY should be thinking just because direct shift / gearlock isn't on their truck that they got no tune or anything.

For about 2 weeks, mid to end of december I had to stop because both of my children were sick and myself.

The only thing we are doing with the newer years is the exact same thing we are doing with the older ones. Adding more ECUs to vF tuner.

The 07-17 ECU list is much much bigger so what I am trying to say is "07-17" is continuing to be added.

Yes, because of those things. I understand you haven’t been able to get those things working. And the engine tune is great. This isn’t a knock against you. I’m just at the point where I’ve lost hope that these things will be solved for older trucks. I hadn’t realized you were still doing appointments. I’ll continue being patient.

For trucks we cannot get our new method working, we still have our old method that works perfect.
toyota modified their code too many times, it's been a challenge. Full disclosure if I had known toyota changed things so significantly from 09 to 14 to 17, I would not have made the features. For some trucks the only way we are going to get it fully working is having some long term testers / people who can test multiple versions relatively quickly.

I haven't been posting here much but I have been working this whole time
    - for example cold weather testing on flex fuel for the trucks that lose all throttle control (fixed by updating to toyotas 0CM52 released file)
    - preparing support for toyotas release 0CN62 (tune files)
    - tune appointments
    etc etc

I'm with you on the buying part. I don't see the option to purchase it on the website. But im on my phone and not tech savvy either, not even sure how much it costs. Maybe a fellow member will chime in to help us out. :anonymous:

The Tundra vF Tuner free upgrade link isn't on our website, because people who were purchasing it weren't customers. Trying to get a freebie I guess, or might have been confused.

Send us an email we can direct you to the link.

A lot of how it works will be described in great detail on our forum. forum.vftuner.com So it doesn't confuse things with what's going on here

Ok, I've done more readings on my spare time, hopefully they will have a simple link to pdf that I found explain what, where and how.

    - VF tuner is the OS that we download for free, to access our ECU
    - VF Tuner only works for Windows based computers, requires OBD2 port cable or somehow to access it, I think on their website there's a pre-order on the wifi version, be nice if we can order directly off them.
    - You then BUY tokens, like in Arcade for the "tune", so if you want more changes after each mod *I think* you buy more credits, I see Tundra's credit is $250 per , not sure if just one file or multiple.
    - Some Tundra ECUs allow direct shift/gear lock working, some don't
    - You can edit the fuel/ignition map yourself, this part I probably don't want to touch and mess things up.

This thread helped me the most to understand: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/vf-tuner-for-the-3-5l-tacoma.662948/

    Part I'm not sure of"
    - Do we then send you a file of our datalog while just driving around in various throttle input position so you can provide us with an improve tune? even stock?
    - Can you do specific tune based on dyno runs with wide band O2 sensors on specific mods?

    - VF Tuner is software that allows you to modify the OS of your ECU, yes
    - Windows only
    - The OBDII cable everyone here already has. The "VF software + cable" comes with the cable
    - The software comes with enough credits / tokens to unlock YOUR / 1 ECU. So nobody who is a current/previous customer has to buy anything
    - Credits are for unlocking other ECUs. Say...you wanted to tune another truck with a different ID.
    - Tundra tune pack these are pre-made tune files from us that you can flash to your truck, or if you wish, modify further and then flash.
    - Correct. Direct shift / gearlock is not available on all tundras.
    - You can modify *everything*. RPM, gear, trans, ignition, fuel, valve timing ,etc etc etc

We do not provide dyno tunes with vF Tuner. The only folks eligible for something like that would be our original tundra customers.
