Hey guys, I bought the camburg lift kit that comes with the 6112 bilstein shocks and I’m wondering if I can fit 305/65/18 with just 2inches of lift.

Unless you’re running wheels with a lower offset than stockies, that might be too wide.

Except for the "might" part. My 265/75/16's rubbed with a 2" lift. But then again, anything could fit with a BFH, Sawzall and enough motivation.

I have 275/70r18’s all I had to do was remove the front mud flaps and I was good.

I was talking about rubbing in the UCA’s with OP’s 305 question. No doubt it would definitely rub on the wheel wells. That’s easy enough to solve.....like you said, a BFH and some motivation.

a sixer never hurt anybody either! LOL

What wheels are you on? What is the width and the backspacing on your wheels? We can't tell you anything useful without knowing that.

Thats about a 33.5x12 tire. For reference a 285/75/16 is just shy of 33x11.25 and can be done on 2" of lift with 4.5" or less backspacing BUT depends on the tire pattern. A mild AT works, a more aggressive AT or an MT will rub bumper/frame/pinch weld. With a 33.5x12 you will rub all that, but you'll need 4" or less backspace and very likely need aftermarket upper arms to make this tire work.

Currently I’m running 285/75/16 with BFG AT KO2 tires. The 16 rim is 4.5 backpacking with -12 offset. I bought the camburg kit that comes with new UCA’s and shocks but the shocks only go up to 2 inch. I want to move up to an 18 rim with 4.53 back spacing and -12 offset. And run 305/65/18. I saw on YouTuber named mike French had 35x12.50x17, that’s definitely wider than the 305 so I was curious if I an run 305/65/18 on 2 inches or lift

Watched his video on Youtube. He's running a full Camburg long travel suspension.

A full Camburg long travel is a different animal all together. It's more like a trophy truck or Baja setup. Pushes the wheels out away from the truck. That truck is not indicative of what will fit on a stock, leveled, or even 4.5-6" lifted truck will accommodate. Search around here, there's a million threads with questions just like yours. Lots of info. Cliff's notes: these trucks don't take large wheel and tire setups as well as Chevys or Fords or whatever. Not enough wheel well or upper control arm clearance for many setups. Appropriate backspacing and modification of the wheel wells and front bumper will be needed to fit almost anything wider and taller than factory, in addition to leveling or lifting the front suspension. Look up the Hawaiian Tundras, they run really wide tire setups. Might be closer to what your thinking.

Don't believe that guy when he says it fits, it doesn't fit once he leaves his driveway. You can do google searches for "Seanpistol Tundra" and you'll find his thread, you have to cut out a large section of the foot well to make 35s fit. Several guys have done it, its not for the faint of heart.

A 4.53 backspace wheel is too close. You'll be hitting frame badly when you turn and you will likely hit the spindles with tire when your suspension drops. There is less than an inch gap there as is (with Camburg arms), going to the size tire you want and wheel you describe you'll have a quarter inch gap at most at ride height. Not enough once your suspension starts moving.

You need 4" backspace on a 9" wheel, you will hit body and you will have to get the hammer out to help solve that. But you will clear the spindle and reduce hitting frame. Honestly I would stick with what you have now. There's nothing to gain from going to 18s, you'll have a slower truck with less fuel economy and you'll rub more.

Thanks guys for your input, it really made me think twice about running 305s, I most likely won’t go for 305’s since I don’t want to do trimming and all that but law323, by any chance can you send me a pic of your 275/70/18

Sure thing. they’re on a 3/1 lift and I’m bumping up to a 295/70 next set.

I remember a younger member here was dead set on the 305 or was it 315? on 17’s.

Everyone told him not to do it and he said he was anyways.

He had a good attitude about coming back and saying he could only go straight.
