I cannot fathom the level of geek you have to reach to pay that price. Not that I don’t spend stupid money on other things, but come one. Can you really see a difference in shine? It doesn’t even last longer!

If it lasted a legit full year without any “apply it’s companion refresher spray monthly to help maintain...” I’d buy it in a second.

So, I haven’t used this one, but have used Waxaddict Vortex, which is even more expensive. I’ve gotten free samples from Richard, and have purchased some at a huge discount. (Well over 50% off.)

While there’s no way I’d pay full price for it, it is far and away the best wax I’ve ever tried. My black Tundra never looked better than it does with Vortex on it. I don’t know what it is, but the depth and look of that wax is incredible. It does last longer than other waxes, but since I rarely let a product live out it’s full life I can’t say for sure how long. (Waxaddict claims 6 months, but as with everything those claims are based on perfect conditions.)
All that said, it’s just tough to justify that cost no matter how good it is.

Long story short, my experiences with a high end wax are positive, but I still wouldn’t pay full price for it. On the plus side, a jar of a good wax will last quite a while. In the case of Vortex, it takes very little product to get a Tundra done.

Shine Supply has some very good waxes that while still expensive are nowhere near this range.

HAHAHAHA...This is funny. Went to Amazon and they sell it. It has 2 reviews, both 5 star. They second one is hysterical. Look at the pic of the Honda.

There is another Zymol Royale. Again, one of the Amazon reviews had me laughing:
"This product looks AMAZING on my '99 Hyundai Tiburon. Sure, my family hasn't eaten anything but ketchup packets and ramen in months, but the compliments I got leaving the title pawn place were SO worth it!"
At least this wax has a lifetime refill from the factory. Until they discontinue it.

That’s not even CG’s most expensive one. This one is about 3400 usd:

Not to mention I’ve seen other waxes north of 10k. A lot of this is just marketing crap, and they never expect to actually sell any.

Thank you and excellent post. Which Shine supply waxes do you recommend? If there is already a post, can you give the link?

For the most part, yes. While wax is going to give you the best look overall, it generally wears off within a week or two. Some of these higher end waxes mix in other things like SiO2 that make them last longer. Even then it won’t approach the longevity of a good sealant.

I tend to use wax when I’m going somewhere where I really want to “show off”. I’d also highly recommend it when selling or trading in a vehicle. Wax will cover imperfections much better than sealants will.

I’ve mentioned it elsewhere, but I don’t think there’s a specific thread. The main two I’d recommend are:
    Signature Shine:
    https://shinesupply.com/collections/waxes-and-sealants/products/signature-shine-paste-wax

    Cherry Silica Wax:
    https://shinesupply.com/collections/waxes-and-sealants/products/cherry-silica-wax-12oz

Signature Shine looks a little better, but Cherry lasts a good bit longer.

Cherry is kind of a hybrid middle ground between wax and sealant. I’d say it’s like a version of Jescar Powerlock that leaves a nicer finish but with greatly reduced durability.
