Looking to get some new tires, came across Cooper AT3 and did some online research - appears they are a decent tire. Anyone on here have opinion/thoughts or ezperience with them?

    Good even wear?
    decent tread life?
Balance well? How about later on in their life?
    Noisey or quiet on road?
    Off-road traction/performance?
    Boat ramp traction?

    Looking into a 285/75/17 load range E

    Thank you in advance

I had a set on a 97 Silverado. I put about 30k miles on them with very little wear. They weren't very noisy and did great off road. They did good on a steep boat ramp but it was slime free.
When the stock tires wear on my tundra those coopers are going on.
I like BFG all terrains too, but last set I had one wouldn't balance.

My brother has em on his work truck. Only had em for a few months but really likes em so far, they seem to get a good grip and are quiet.

I put AT3s on my daughter's Liberty and ST Maxx's on my Tacoma. AT3s are good tire just not aggressive enough for the places I take my truck. She really likes the AT3s and has had no problems with them in 6 months. The ST Maxx's took more weight to balance that I would like but ride fine. I bought both sets through Discount direct during their labor day sale. I got some nice rebates on both. I had been looking at the Maxx's for a while and never saw any rebates. I called Discount Direct and the dude told me that Cooper never offers a rebate on the ST Maxx so when I saw them on the labor day sales I jumped on them even though I had 3-4 months left on my BFGs.

    Had the at3's on my 2005 gmc z71. In 285/70r17. E-load also

Good wearing tire quiet and a great value imo. I wanted something more aggressive for my tundra due to the mud and snow/slush I drive through so I went with BFG AT KO2 (good choice for me). But if I was pulling out of my driveway to highway all the time with minimal off-road or snow I'd definitely consider the AT3s again.

Could you please elaborate a little more? I'm curious what terrain your driving so I could better understand where the all-terrain tread design might leave you wanting more tread voids, less contact patch.

Thank you all so far for the reviews, lines up well with what I have read from peoples reviews elsewhere. Go to hear some direct feedback though from fellow enthusiasts.

I could see where this tire might leave you wanting more for that style driving condition.

Any precipitation (snow or rain) and I've got a quarter mile of mush to run through til I get to blacktop. Uphill going out, downhill coming home (obviously).

The cooper at3 is a great tire. Rolls and wears evenly like a radial but with a bit more attitude (and rubber) when and where you need it.

For what it's worth... Cooper tires are GREAT. Under appreciated IMHO. AT3's, Maxx's, Pro's. You can't go wrong.

Well I pulled the trigger on some Cooper AT3 yesterday, ordered and will probably be installed next weekend. Very excited!

They definitely look bigger and fill the well much better! I took some pre swap measurement and will compare to post install. Though, I used to be able to see the UCA BJ in the arm before....now I don't.

Best tire i've ever had on my work vehicle. Lasted around 50,000, great in snow and mud, and very little noise

They did pretty well for my fleet of trucks in snow and mud, and lasted about 50000. My techs drive almost 50,000 per year and they lasted longer than expected...but we drive em til they won't get us through a winter

I will say I am pleasantly surprised how quiet these are...too quiet almost. I hear squeaks and rattles that were previously drowned out :(

    Good morning,

When I was running the Bilstein 5100 at the top setting so around two and a half inches of lift, I was running the factory upper control arm on the Rock Warrior wheels and I had plenty of clearance.

I'd imagine you could probably get away with this size tire on a factory wheel as well.

And I didn't really come close to rubbing on anything but I took off the mud flaps and the front little air dam the second I brought the truck home so.

Yea I am going to run 5100 on middle with a +12 wheel. Hopefully no issues. More concerned about UCA than anything else

You had them on for a few months now, what do you think about them now, that's exactly the same tire and size I been looking at for my rw wheels that I have in storage.

I really like them, enough to buy another set at full price.

Wearing very well, I do get alignment checks/toe sets regularly. Balance/rotate every 3 to 5K. They take little weight when balancing. Seems to wear and ride best around 35psi front and 30 or so rear when unloaded.

Id have to check mileage of install, but the tread depth doesnt appear to be dropping to quickly.

They perform well off road and on the launch ramp. Because range E, I usually run 20psi out on the trails. The added side wall strength actually greatly surpasses the slightly rougher ride, from mental point of view. They don't seem to chunk as previous tires Iv had do.

Overall, I'm very happy and recommend them to anyone who asks. My initial reason for purchase was wanting something a little taller but not wide, I'm a huge fan of pizza cutter style tires. I got lucky and bought them during a sale....otherwise I'd still probably be wondering how they performed.

Awesome thanks! Now I just have to wait for the stock Michelin's wear out and pull the trigger on these.
