I'm finally installing the headers tomorrow! Figured I would get the skids off today so I can get straight at it in the am. Also have been wanting to paint the TRD skid to blend in more

Touched up the bumper skid.. holding up pretty well for cheap bedliner for the past 8 months

Finally got the headers on. The install was actually a little easier then I was expecting but its extremely tight. The mids actually gave the most problems. The flanges dont line up perfectly with the catback and they are slotted verses round holes in the catback. This resulted in a couple leaks which is driving me crazy but since these are just loaners till the cats go back in and the truck is going to sit in the garage for the next 2 weeks I just let it be for now. I think we went to like 13 different auto part stores looking for every 2.5" and 3" gasket that we could find to try to make it work lol. I'll try to post a video later to capture the sound

You can see how the slotted flange on the mid pipes is causing an issue

We must live on opposite sides of town I am sure I would recognize this truck if I saw it.

If you want to dyno it I have a buddy who owns ESTuned in Rita Ranch he can get you on the dyno for a reasonable rate.

I live over by Sabino HS (Snyder and Harrison). I travel for work most weeks so she only sees daylight over the weekends.

Thanks for the referral. Is the shop open on weekends?

How did you get the round pieces from the air vents off? I can't seem to figure it out. Also, did you use plastidip for the chrome piece around the shicmfter knob instead of spray paint..?

The two outer rings are easy to pop out. Just remove a couple dash pieces and those sections pop out. The two inner rings by the radio are a different story. You have to remove half the center console and radio to get those suckers out. I used a Rust-Oleum Primer and Gloss Black all in one.

I'm going to install the brake controller tomorrow and have to remove the driver dash so I can send you some pics

its actually not nearly as loud as I was expecting. No drone which is nice and when I jump on it it has a deeper growl versus the loud scream I had with the straight mids. The first thing I noticed was how more responsive it is now when I floor it and more higher end torque. I'm getting it dyno'd on Monday so excited to see what she is putting out.

I heard with full exhaust line and LT headers to expect +40hp/80 tq roughly.

Yeah Keith dyno'd a similar setup on a 5.7 and got +49 hp & 89 lbs/tq. If I get anywhere near that I will be happy! Other thing I noticed is my tuner is saying that I am averaging 16 - 17 mpgs on my individual trips. I'm about to fill up so will have to calculate the next tank to see for sure.

    Finally got the truck dyno'd.

    Mustang Dyno - 305 rwhp 331 tq

I was a little depressed with the numbers at first but know the mustang dyno numbers are lower than a dynojet. I talked to Keith just to make sure I wasn't missing anything and he agreed and mentioned that a stock 5.7 tundra would probably put out around 250 - 260 to the wheel on a mustang dyno. He also made some suggestions on the tune that should help.

I want to get her on a dynojet after I re-tune to confirm these numbers. Also they did 3 pulls and the first 2 they weren't able to get clean runs so I wan't a few more.

3rd run that produced the numbers on the dyno sheet

Regardless of numbers though the truck runs and sounds amazing and I would do it all again!! You can feel that she has more power and is waaaay more responsive. Huge shoutout to Keith @dirtydeeds for all his help over the past few months.

yep bank account is running low from it..
The dnyo looks like they are doing static dnyo not blower dnyo test (air pushed thru the rad and intercooler via blower) These two dnyos are night and day difference between the two.

Did you get bar pressure readings and humidity readings as the test was done? You need to factor those into the equation.

You crossed by dnyo at 5200 rpms so not too bad on the graph man.
