So my particular truck doesn't come with remote start, and with the maybe 6 days of legitimate cold we have per year here in South Louisiana its not worth it to me to install one in this one. I did install a Fortin in the one that was wrecked, but noticed I barely used it...........on to my question.....

This morning was one of those mornings that I would have liked to get into a warm vehicle. My solution is to start the truck with the extra key then lock it while I get dressed. I just noticed that with the engine running the remote lock/ unlock doesn't work on either key. No biggie if there isn't a workaround for this, I can just walk up to the drivers door and use the key, but I'd like the convenience if possible. My fiancé has a 2011 Camry and her remotes can be used with engine running, so what changed? and is there a workaround to get this to work? Thanks in advance for any expertise, experience, opinions, or smart ass comments.

Does this only happen in one location or is it anywhere you remote start. Also are you running any LED replacements on your truck?

There was another thread where the bed LEDs were interfering with keyfob transmitter. Not all LEDs will do it but some will if they are not properly shielded. They act like mini jammers and broadcast RF in the same spectrum as the lock/unlock command.

No remote start on this one, engine is started and running with key. I do have the bed LEDs that were installed as part of the TSS package from Toyota.

If its the LEDs you can pull them and try locking/unlocking while the truck it running.
