So I need a bit of help diagnosing a noise. Best I can describe is a whomp whomp-most common is while cold but occasionally it returns after driving . I’ve checked fluids as my first thought was power steering pump. Fast forward a month and now it’s bothering me even worse. Picked up a stethoscope and I can pick the sound up from these two lines. Louder with the smaller of the two. From reading these are transmission cooler lines but what could be producing this sound from the trans. Could it be resonating from something I’m overlooking?
    No codes
    No other issues

    much thanks

Well the sound quit today but so did the alternator. New alternator, tensioner (out of precaution) and belt-back to normal.

I bet it was electrical noise from alternator. I replaced a water pump one time thinking it was bad. After replacement noise was till there. Turned out to be the alternator whining.

I feel it was the alternator. The belt albeit had 80+K was in good visual shape. I was concerned it was something worse since the noise I could only pick up with a stethoscope was on the trans cooler lines.
The good news it was covered from the extended warranty I had-that I had zero memory of purchasing.
