So true. If our trucks came with zero chrome and all badges blacked out from the factory then everyone would want to change it. o_O

I see what you're saying, but It rusted b/c rubber had fallen off on a piece that's between the rubber casing and lower ring area. Eventually the whole screw rusted out.

13" is imo the best compromise between sux and fugly (6" vs. factory). That said, if you live out in the boonies, anything short (pun intended) of an unloaded 1/4 wave is going to have degraded performance. XM to the rescue.

I emailed antennaX last night, they replied this morning and sending me a spacer free of charge.
I'll make sure to spray Fluid Film on it

I can see it happening. Last night I tried taking my antennaX off (been on for couple days only) and the "import" insert stayed inside while the antenna unscrewed from it. I can see it getting stuck there if rusting. The 2 pieces antenna might be easier to manufacture but I can foresee long terms problem. I'm actually 50/50 keeping it now. Maybe put some loctite on the antenna threads.

I swapped it out for a small (maybe 6") one. It fits securely and reception isn't horrible, but it's not always the greatest.

In my 'older' age I've grown accustomed to function over form. I've heard that the shorter ones don't get as great reception when you head out of town. Not a big deal for me since I'm usually always blue-toothed in and listening to books-on-tape (yes I know I'm old).

If you like the look, don't use the radio alot and you rarely travel out of a city area then go for it. In fact, if you're in the Houston, TX area I've got one in the shape of a .50 Caliber bullet I'll give you that my brother gave to me.

    3" lift. 35's.
I just installed the 3" stubby antenna and it looks great but zero function. I live in Maryland close to major market radio stations but this product gets zippo on the dial. It looks bad a$$ though. Just send the company an email to see what can be done to refund or replace.

    Any suggestions??
