I'd decided on putting katskinz with heaters in my 16 sr5, then I ran across a 15 1794 on my dealer site while scheduling an oil change. It's basically the same miles as my truck, looks clean, and is black which I wish I'd have gotten originally over my mgm.

Other than leather and trim pieces, what differences are there between the sr5 and 1794? Is that basically it or is there more bells and whistles in the 1794?

You’ll get a moonroof, ventilated/heated seats, parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, memory seats/mirrors, powerfolding mirrors, auto dimming mirrors, JBL audio, integrated navigation, and maybe a few minor things.

You’ll lose your 38 gallon gas tank on your 2016 back to the 26.4 fuel tank on the 2015. You’ll lose the integrated trailer brake controller, but you can buy the trim and add the P3 controller on the 2015 in the same location.

If you haven't had any issues with your truck, I would say it's not worth it. Who knows why the previous owner sold it?

Mine already has the bsm and cross traffic on it so I wouldn't be gaining anything there. The major things that had me curious was the heated and vented leather, jbl, and the color.
The only problem I've had out of mine is getting it aligned to quit chewing the outside off the tires and the cam tabs bending/breaking because it's be aligned so many times.

Ah, well I have a platinum (same as 1794) and I had 3 SR5 Tundras prior. I personally love the Platinum, I use either the heated seats or vented seats daily, I use the moonroof with the rear glass from spring to fall yearly, and I actually like the JBL as a factory system. A lot on here don’t like it, and you could make a better system from scratch. But I listen to County and rock and it sounds perfect to me.

The powerfolding mirrors were a must for me to fit both our vehicles in the garage, probably the feature I really needed. Really up to you if you want to upgrade. Another feature you’ll gain is automatic dual zone climate control.

After having 3 pre-2016 Tundras, I could never go back to the 26.4 gallon gas tank from the 38. We have a 2016 Land Cruiser and the ~24 gallon tank on that is annoying, as we have to get gas weekly.

The dual climate would be good for my wife that is always cold. The 26 gal tank is a bit of a hold up though. Not sure I could do it especially when I haul a bass boat 2-3 hrs sometimes to fish tournaments.

The 24 gal tank in the 200 series is a bummer but if covid hadn't driven down the supply and upped the prices I'd have sold my tundra a while ago to get one

We love the 200 series, really wish Toyota put the 8 speed behind the Tundra's 5.7. It's phenomenal in the 200 series. My only complaint with our 200 series is the gas tank size, if it had a ~30 gallon tank I'd have no complains. Having said that I'd buy another, if Toyota keeps making them

The years with the 8 speed is a bit above my price range for now but Id be more than tickled to have a 200 lc or lx. I've always had 4 runners until I got the tundra so I'd prefer an suv.
I've looked hard for several months and they're all either priced way too high, been wrecked multiple times, or since there's none around me sold before I could get out to see them.

    My family is a 4Runner family, I’m still a big 4Runner fan.

We traded our 2014 SR5 Prem 4x4 for the Land Cruiser. We looked for months before we found the one we wanted. They’re rare in our area as well, typically our Toyota dealer only gets a few new ones each year.

I'm considering a 2014 1794, moving from my 2013 Ltd TRD MC Tundra. Since my current truck has most of the features I want, I'd mainly be trading for lower miles and lower cost/montly payments. I do like the upgraded interior electronics on the 2014+ so those would be nice too. Do all 1794 have the same options within that year's model?

Question is: does the 1794 come with a TRD package? So far I haven't been able to find one on this site, so wondering if they never made that an option.

I believe the TRD Offroad package, Blind Spot Monitor, and a few other options were optional equipment in 2014. The moonroof still isn't standard as of 2021.

You never mentioned the $$ difference. That would be a big deciding factor for me

I paid $27.5 for my 2013 with 112k on it, excellent condition and maintenance record and loaded with a topper, skid plate, some other goodies. I've done several mods, some of which may not add to trade-in value (like sequoia lights, pro grille). I've put I've put about 25k on it in a year. The 2014 is ~ 85k miles, asking ~ $24k from a dealer. I don't know the options on it yet.

As always, I should probably sell my truck myself, but might trade if they give me a good deal.

Related question: will a Westin brush guard on my 2013 also fit a 2014?

    Tastefully enhanced...
Which dealer Maxi13? I'm in Bozo and that is a good price for a 1794 here anyways...the Westin could work with slight modifications...

Hahaha. They just realized their mistake and added $10k to the price. Not in my ballpark anymore. The glorious 2013 stays!
