So you never had to avoid the 3' long shells in the turret during gunnery. Those little ash trays the 120mm rounds leave behind are awesome!

    10 years August 2001- Veteran's Day 2011. U.S. Navy

9/11 no one knew WTF was going on and we walked aimlessly for hours, or chow to chow....

01-03 U.S.S. John F. Kennedy CV-67, the most hated ship in the Navy during that timeframe, we were late for deployment and went dead in the water, true story..... LOL.. Aviation Boatswain mate Handler, V1 division on the flight deck.... No one tells you how hot it is until your mouth is dry and your stomach is full of water and it doesn't really know what to do.... oh and dodging death via failing tail hooks due to hydraulic failure..
'02 Med cruise for Operation Enduring Freedom OEF, so much fun

03-06 U.S.S. Chester Nimitz CVN-68, 05 West Pac Cruise Operation Iraqi Freedom OIF as Air Traffic Control, Took the COD home..

06-11 Naval Air Facility El Centro, El Sweato or Hell Centro, take your pick, glorified gas and go for jets, Winter home for the Blue Angels and restricted areas are the only reason this base will stay around... Air Traffic Control

14 to present Federal Civil Service for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Flight Data Communication Specialist fancy word for Admin and no one knows what we really do, unless you really need us to do something for them.... right now....
like helping controllers redirect traffic, which we don't do, but if they sprinkle some of that magic ATC dust, they can DIY..... LOL...

Thank you all for your service.

F100D, F4C,D,E, F16A. I was not your fellow life support guy's favorite - back from a south Texas summer F4 low level, my gear was so salty and sweaty, I sort of hated to turn it in. Could pour a few ounces out of my O2 mask. Boots lasted only 6 weeks before becoming so salt encrusted, that they got stiff. Helluva life, though!

Not exactly Military; but Merchant Marine Officer. And post 911 work with various agencies that I won't discuss. I could have gotten VA bene if I served in Desert Shield / Storm. I was north Africa then, so no benes for me.
