I have dockers polarized sunglasses and don't have any issue other than in direct sunlight the "oil sheen" effect happens where I can see some rainbow colors. Doesn't bother me one bit.

Then it is on the slowest ship from China. Expect a very long transit and no updates. It will not update until it hits customs.

For those of you with 2nd gens and JBL: I recently installed a Joying unit and am very pleased with it so far except for one issue. The output to the amp seems to be incorrect because the fader doesn’t work correctly. Adjusted all the way to the front or all the way to the back, all of the speakers are on. Centered and the speakers are all bass with zero treble. I’m in contact with Joying and they are being helpful, just unable to fix it so far.

Anyone run into anything like this with a Dasaita install?

Based on all my inquiries to different people along with crutchfield tech. You need to set your fader to where you want it in your oem unit before installation of any radio. There's no adapter nor a hack for that yet.

Just like the nav system in the Lexus GX470/60 there's no replacement for it. But plenty for base model.

Am I correct in my assumption that the fading happens inside the JBL amp? And you’re saying that the stock head unit is the only thing that can talk to the JBL amp and adjust the fader?

Doesn’t the Dasaita unit have the built in dsp where you can adjust all the audio settings? I don’t have mine yet but from everything I’ve read and seen that no one seemed to have this issue.

The JBL head unit is the only thing that can control the JBL amp fade feature. Even if you have a $2k Alpine or Kenwood unit. In order for you to get the fader to work , you need a different amp and crossover system. And also customize your own wiring.

Did you guys have to change a setting in the dasaita head unit to get it to work with the canbus harness? The Joying has vehicle specific settings, and was set to “null” from the factory. No Tundra setting in there, but lots of other Toyotas.

I run Maui Jim polarized sunglasses and have NO issues seeing it with them on. As for Android 9.0 or 10.0, it really doesn't matter. Mine came with Android 10 and there are ways to upgrade from 9.0 to 10, but you need to have the supported components (if you have the wrong BlueTooth module, it will upgrade, but break bluetooth fro example). There are threads on XDA forums dedicated to this line of head units, so you can always upgrade if you wish (Iris will send you to the site if you ask). VERY important, we have MTCD/MTDE head units...that is important to know, so stick with the MTCD categories, okay?

Got my unit today. How did everyone get it in the double din adapter? I’m gonna break mine before I get it to slide in. I Have the Scosche one.

I’ve never been so disappointed in a single product ever in my life. The fit on this is garbage. I’ve been trying to modify this double din adapter and it’s like the radio is an 1/8” too wide to fit. I sanded and sanded and finally ended up cutting relief cuts in the corners to get it to slide down only to find it hits the screw heads.

After some research I find out that this head unit is 3 mm too tall and approximately 5 mm too wide to fit.

anyone have any recommendations on a dash kit that will work?

I understand that quality control isn’t great in China but there is an industry standard for sizing on these openings.

    Urgent help needed.

I have everything working except the reverse cam. It’s plugged in and I get the display to pop up correctly but when I return to park or another gear, the display remains stuck on the reverse cam and the reverse lights are stuck on. The only way to make them shut off is to disconnect the battery.

I grounded the wiring harness to the passenger side kick panel ground. Can’t figure out why the cam stays on and why my reverse lights are stuck on.

Installed in a 2017 Toyota Tundra.

    any help would be appreciated.

Did you leave the small brown plug in the harness marked “CHR” unplugged? That’s what happened to me and I just unplugged it, everything is great now. Also did not ground the additional harness ground as heard from others that it causes a slight buzz out of middle speaker.

PITA. I spent a few weeks constantly clearing codes until I finally got in touch with their customer support to figure out the issue. Directions for the harness were pretty much non-existent. Without this thread I would of been completely in the dark. Glad I could help. Cheers

Confirmed. If I put the audio to the rear, it fades to silence. I've always wondered why my factory sub doesn't hit harder.

But I am 90% sure that before I removed my OEM JBL radio, it was balanced 50/50

    Well shucks. Thanks for confirming.

So what does the canbus adapter do? I can unplug mine while listening to the stereo and nothing changes.

I have this unit. Any way to change the button backlight color at the bottom? Currently they are blue but I would like to change them. I see alot of people have an "element" setting in their settings. Mine is not there and I've combed through every menu and sub menu there is and I don't see a way to change it.

its not the end of the world.... I chose that specific unit so I didn't have the large logo on it so I guess that is a trade off I can accept.

Returned my Joying unit. Loved the wireless CarPlay, but couldn’t stand the terrible sound quality, and lack of fader. I’m back to the stock head unit using Bluetooth to stream, and looking at google maps on my phone. Not ideal, but certainly better than the crap handshake between the android unit and JBL amp. I’m one of the rare tundra owners who doesn’t mind the sound quality of the stock JBL system, so I know I’m no audiophile, but the joying unit was unbearable!
