Cool. I'm going to grab some of the waterless and the spiked punch.
how does eco-shine/spiked punch compare to merlins magic elixir?

 

More of a straight cleaner like Opti-Clean or ONR. Doesn’t leave protection behind like Elixer. The Spiked Punch does leave a good deal of protection and gloss.

have you tried Cool Guy wheel cleaner?

 

Yeah, but it wasn’t remarkable. The Wise Guy does both now, and works as well as anything.

 

so by "now" do you mean they re-formulated it? or its always been fine to use on wheels and they just started to advertise that it works on both?
I'm still working through a gallon of wise guys i got July 2018.

 

They reformulated it earlier this year to do both. It definitely works better on wheels than it used to.

 

Dammit. I guess i'll add a new gallon to the cart then.
have you used any of their interior shine products?

 

What towels from the rag company are you guys using? Eagle edgeless?

 

I have both their 420 and 500 towels, gonna try and pick more up this week

Autogeek and alike are always having sales so not to worried about trying to catch a deal on my normal product orders.

 

Truth. AutoGeek has a sale every week ranging from 15-25% off....almost annoying. I cant remember what they did last year, but todays email was for 20% off, i think it will go lower.
I've got about $75 worth of stuff in my cart from rag company, and i need to find the best deal on a good sized bottle of carpro reset.

 

Yeah they may go to 25% on Friday or Monday. And possibly free shipping. I do what you do and just build carts and wait for the 25

 

Keep an eye on Autogeek for sales on gift certificates......sometimes they go on sale on Black Friday....they're good to get 'cause you can apply them and double down on sales!!

 

And now for something completely different......Ethos Car Care is having a 25% off sale starting at midnight. I've tried their Defy, which is a quick detailer with some protection added. It gives you near BeadMaker slickness, but much better protection and enough cleaning capability for a waterless wash. Apex Detail did a review of it, and he really liked it. A lot of their products are overpriced, which I've been very candid with their owner about.....but the larger sizes and a sale bring them down to reality. Use code EARLYBIRD25

 

Does the PS break duster mess up the rims paint/powder coat? Seems like a lot use that product but just wanna make sure it’s good. Need some stuff to keep the cars clean

 

A lot of people really like Brake Buster....I'm not one of them. I'm not sure it is safe for powder coat...you'd need to check with them to be certain. In my case, I'm willing to admit that it may have been user error. I could never get the dilution right....too weak and it was ineffective....too strong and it left residue. If I need a wheel cleaner, which I rarely do, I go to Sonax for the win. For that, it needs to be obvious that soap and water will not be enough.

Get your wheels clean and coat them with CarPro Dlux, and you'll never need a wheel cleaner again. It is strangely satisfying to see your wheels come clean with nothing but soap and water. As a side note....if you were in NJ....I'd have almost a full gallon of Brake Buster to give you.

 

I have to agree with this. Brake buster is always leaving residue behind. Now all my wheels have coatings so soap and water works for me.

Shine supply can only be bought from their site of authorized dealer. The rest can be purchased from retailers physical and online. Granted shine supply offers all of those types of products but with their own formula branded by them.

 

Autogeek is probably the closest to it besides Amazon. The Wise Guy is Shine Supply only.

 

Right now on Amazon they have some cyber Monday deals on Chemical Guys Honeydew soap and there premium MF towels. I had to grab another gallon at $23.99

I had some time this morning and was able to try out some of the Shine Supply products.

Spiked Punch: Hot Damn, worked great. Truck wasn't super dirty, but shit, she's shining now! Went on really easily and gave a ton of shine. I tried it on the commuter-pig that was a bit more dirty (probably 2-3x dirtier than the truck) but had a full paint correction and ceramic coating done about 2 years ago. Cleaned up the paint decently and gave some good shine, i had to use more and more elbow grease to get it shined up. I went ahead and used it on both the trucks wheels that are plastidip'd and the factory aluminum wheels on the commuter-pig, worked great on the wheels. I was a bit worried to try it, but the directions said it can be used on paint, glass, chrome and trim so i gave it a shot. I really wish this was about $20 cheaper for a gallon. I used a decent amount (about 3/4 of a 32oz spray bottle) on both vehicles. I was worried about the little white floaters in the Spiked Punch clogging the sprayers, but did not happen.

Clean n Shine: A lot thinner than i was thinking it would be. i used circular foam applicator and an eagle edgeless for buffing. Goes on quite thin and had to work it in with the applicator, buffed any leftover with the eagle. I would say its the perfect amount of gloss for the interior. Some products i've tried leave too much gloss, this stuff is just perfect.

I still need to try Solution and the new version of Wise Guys.

 

So anything going on for 2021?? What are you buying?

 

Only thing on my radar this BF for detailing is Optimum No Rinse. Everyone talks about it and i've got to try it out.

I'll probably end up spending a few hundo's at shine supply though if they have a sale.

You mentioned getting some Optimum No Rinse. Eco Shine is Shine Supply’s version and the one I use the most.

 

I am on the hunt for a deal on ONR....which one you like better?
