Dunno... not that familiar with the nuances of the ‘19 Platinum. I’m just a hobbiest that picked up a knockoff cable to be able to mess around with my own stuff.

Yours has the glass break sensor and hood switch tied into the alarm? Looks like if it’s not preinstalled and disabled (though that does seem a bit odd to do), then there is a part number to install it. It would be easy enough to poke around in the settings and see if it’s there...

my coworker put an aftermarket one in his 2019 SR5... not sure the brand or price though.

This knife is taking a lot to get perfect. 2 1/8” wide blade blade 3/32 thick, heat treated, no warp. Can’t wait to see the pattern when I etch the Damascus. Probably take me another couple weeks to finish with all the distractions.

I didn't even know there was something to use to hack into the truck. I did this on my Ford (different program) and it was great. Did some light googling tonight and didn't see anything that listed out the various items that can be changed...I'd love to turn off the 8 bell alarm that goes off if the truck is running and the fob isn't in range and also inop the stupid 45min idle timer that shuts off the engine.

Toward the back of the user manual is a section on customization (it’s part of section 8), and it identifies which options can be changed via the gage cluster controls, the stereo head unit settings, or by the dealer (Techstream).

I’m not sure if either of those is an option to customize... within Techstream they also aren’t always labeled the most intuitively. But that beep when I jump out to check the mail is obnoxious... I’m going to have to look into that one.

If the engine is running and the shifter is in park, it will auto-shut off the engine after ~45-60 minutes.
@Green Thunder I did see in the manual tonight that there are a couple ways to get past that... lock the door manually using the key or the interior lock button turns off the timer until the driver door is opened, or touch the brake pedal at any time to reset the timer. At least that’s what I THINK I read.

I bought the Carista OBD2 program for $15 to change a few things on my truck.
That seat belt chime had to go right away.

yeah, it resets if you touch the brakes. It is annoying because you don’t get any alerts before it happens. I’d like to shut that chit down since it happens to me all the time

The safety aspect is understood from a consumer vs government oversight point of view but it should not be so hard to disable these nannies if you want to or need to. One of my first dealer visits after getting my pro was to get the ‘seatbelt’ and ‘open door’ chimes disabled. Annoying around the farm and when hunting.

Yep, that’s why I turn them off. That and the half mile from the mail box on a dirt road, and when my dog decides she wants to ride in the front seat.

Started the Christmas music already. Cannot tell if I’m excited for Christmas or just ready for the end of 2020. Either way, I’m just going to cannonball through December.

If my daughter has a gymnastics event this year In Portland I might take you up on at least the seat belt chime! I wish there was a way to customize the center Screen in the cluster to show different things.

Well, the etch went well and the pattern looks pretty good.
The addition of my “Makers Mark” turned out nice without messing up the pattern.

Check out your user manual, section 8 under customizations. Anything that is denoted as “dealer” should be possible. It’s not huge, but it’s something. For the most part, it’s things like turning on/off warning chimes or programming new keys and fobs. Sensitivity of auto headlights (if you have them) is also in there, and offset values on the climate control are possible too

Ha ha, actually it’s a lot of really nerve racking hand work plus about 3 sleepless nights, lol.
I’m not one of those guys that just programs a computer or a mill and kicks back while some machines do it.
