Not really, but don’t sell your gear if you still love it. Life’s too short to skip out on important things like fishing.

I agree whole heartedly. The fall Striper bite has turned on pretty good here in MD and I've been getting out 1-2 times a week as the wind will let me. The Chesapeake gets angry this time of year.

Just got back from Port O'Conner, TX on Monday. Had a blast. Really love the fact that it's November and I am still wading in shorts, the weather was awesome. Trout and Red Fish..

Posting a obligatory Oct. Salmon pic. I got a couple in this year, would've liked more, but weather was great and just happy to get a break. As you can see in the background I was doing better than the fella with the broken rod haha! Pretty happy with this boy until my wife had to go and catch one that outweighed this guy by a pound.

Overall fantastic trip, can't wait for 2021.

Stripers that size are few and far between in the Chesapeake these days. Anything over 30" is considered a nice fish where it was over 40" when I was a kid. My Chesapeake personal best is about 52" over 20 years ago. She was released.

50”. We didn’t have a scale handy, so I don’t know weight. She had a lot of fun catching it though. I thought she was going to join it in the water a couple of times. Lol.

Awesome. They do tug pretty good.
I asked because my friend has the NC state record gar. That one looks a lot fatter. He sent me a text saying he caught the state record. I called him pretty quick and the first thing I said was what the hell are you doing fishing for gar? He said he was crappie fishing with minnows and caught it on a cane pole. 53.5 inches long and 25 pounds.
I'm guessing her's is an alligator gar. Around here we have longnose.
    Nice drum too, yum.

Cool! Here we have Spotted gar, Longnose, Shortnose, Hybrid, and Alligator. Hers was an alligator. It’s not that big, considering the state record is 279lbs, but definitely not tiny either. Here’s a 37” longnose I caught a few days earlier...
