Doing something probably really stupid. But I'm wondering, installing a coilover that's designed to go along with 6 inch lift steering knuckle onto a stock knuckle ?

What kind of issues could I run into ?

People will want to know your vehicle details.

I'm not a suspension guru, but others here are. They will ask/need to know specifics.

I was curious about this as well, looking at the rough country coils.

Let me see if I understand what you are trying to do. You have a 3rd gen Tundra with stock spindles and you want to know what problems you will have if you install coil-overs that are designed to work with 6" lift spindles? So, as an example: Rough Country N3 6" coil-overs? If that is your situation, good luck. You do not need to worry about any problems post installation as you will not be able to install them in the first place. THEY WILL NOT FIT! You cannot get a coil-over designed for a 6" spindle lift to fit your stock spindles. A 6" coil-over (like the RC N3's that I mentioned) do NOT provide any lift. They simply are designed to fill in the gap left when the spindle lift spacers are removed from the lift kit. I mean, what is your goal? Are you thinking you are going to get lift from the coil-overs? Or are you trying to save money? I do not understand your goal.

Okay that makes sense. I have a 6"inch pro comp stage 2 or it's a 7" inch stage 2.... I know kinda silly that I don't know. Problem is both kits are very identical and the 6" kit has the range to get a 7 "

Yes I was trying to save money, because the icon dynamics suspension I want i can't afford, yet. Which is just a 0-3" inch lift kit. I'm going to weld my crossmember back and wanted to test it. I know a place where I can go off roading that would be safe. Screw it, I'll just get coilovers that are $200 and see how long they last while I test my frame ha

No, it's not silly at all. I mean, when you get down to it, changing suspension on a $45k vehicle is very serious business. And, I too have the Pro Comp 6" lift. I am curious as to why you want to revert back to stock suspension or a 3" lift. And, what type and brand of kit are you looking at installing?

I bought the truck with the lift already. Not gonna lie, i did enjoy driving it around the city when I first got it. The pro comp kit is actually really great. Took it off roading feels great, went a little aggressive on couple trails handles well. Problem for me, is the height. I work a lot, sometimes I'm going back and forth, hoping in and out gets old real fast. Plus my wife is pregnant, she barley can get in the Tacoma haha. She doesn't like it. Sometimes, i have to load equipment and tools for side projects while I'm with my wife, which means I'm driving my 4door short bed taco. The short bed really sucks. It's awesome for recovery /camping gear.

My tundra is a 2 door , but I still need it to be a family vehicle for my small family and my work truck, and my commuter and my toy for off roading.
I want a LT 3" lift kit. I think it's a perfect balance especially for bolt on kits. To me bolt on are more like Mid travel kits. I want ICON VEHICLE DYNAMICS | '07-CURRENT TOYOTA TUNDRA 3.0 SUSPENSION SYSTEMS. But I can't afford it right. But since I like pro comp 2.75 coilovers. I'll just buy the 2.75 that would fit my truck after welding the crossmember.

Oh, ok... Gotcha. Yeah, preggo wife trying to climb up into a 6" lifted Tundra can be problematic. My wife was not too happy when she first climbed up into my rig after the lift install. But, we have already had our children and she is a trooper. Anyway, if you do decide to go the full 3", you might want to consider new upper control arms. The Pro Comp 6" lift kit is designed and manufactured to work perfectly with our stock UCA's so that we can achieve a spec alignment. However, a 3" lift, as you are proposing, is set up differently and causes problems for getting the alignment to spec (specifically caster). Anyway, good luck with your venture and post a few before and after pics when you have it all buttoned up!

You're going to bottom out the 6" coilovers on a stock truck, you need to buy some for a 0-3" lift. Best to sell the procomp 6" lift kit as a package to try and get some money back.

You need some stock knuckles and stock front/rear shocks. You could try asking some 4wd shops if they have any or try the classifieds. I have seen people trying to sell the stock take-offs on craigslist. The knuckles on 2016+ trucks and slightly different than '07-15, so keep that in mind.
