Been reading thread after thread for about the past 3 weeks thinking about what I should get for my rear-end LT build. I'm going the bed-cage/SUA route but at this point I really don't know which parts I should start piecing together. I was recently out in San Diego and stopped into Dirt King and picked up a bed cage. I've been looking at a few things to get but I wanna tax the smarter masses here before I just start buying random shit.
    - Camburg SUA package w/I96 Deavers
    - Wanted to go with ADS for 16" 3.0 triple bypasses (im local to them)

I dunno where to get rear shock mount relocation brackets from other than maybe TC? I've been reading a lot of posts about @osidepunker running a custom 3" Deaver set and @papasmurf making a new shackle for them, but nothing recently about this stuff being available that i could find.

When you say rear shock mount relocation brackets, are you talking about on the axle or on the frame? You won't need the frame mounts if you've got a bedcage.

In that case you can probably get away with the I96 packs. But if you're gonna run loaded then I'd recommend the v420 3" packs. Everything is available off the shelf for the I96. You're lucky 'cause Kyle Green is in Gilbert and he makes the front leaf hangers for the V420s. I would also recommend you go see him about a bucket brace. He makes a sweet brace that goes from coil bucket, over the engine, to the other coil bucket. Once you extend the LCAs you've got a LOT of leverage that will begin bending your coil buckets in toward the engine.
What front kit are you gonna use?
Also, be sure to use heimed UCAs. Believe me, they're necessary.

I didn’t know they were actually real yet haha. Just found the thread and trying to skim it so I don’t bring a stupid question here.

Idk why I never lurk this forum. Y’all know about so much shit I’ve never heard of. Looking into the V420s rn. And I’m running Dirt Kings LT kit, so bushings instead of heims. King 2.5 coil over and 2.5 triple bypasses.

My alignment used to get knocked out every trip. I've since been educated. It was often the coil buckets bending. Some guys have pushed their LCAs all the way forward for max caster and welded in solid plates, no more cams, no more aligning from the LCAs, just with the UCAs. I'm told this is the more common way in the truck world to do alignments, also more of a PITA. This is why I suggest the heimed uppers. Unless you crawl around everywhere like a 20mph jeep on a singlewide trail, you will, sooner or later, bend the buckets. That's where the bucket brace come in. It ain't cheap but IMO it is necessary. Especially if you don't have heimed uppers. There's a frame straightening guy in Phoenix that pulled my buckets back out but you don't want to do that if you can avoid it, you know, metal fatigue and all.

My buddy has one in his LT Titan aka shitbox. Maybe the jankiest “long travel” build I’ve seen lol. It’s a good idea. Same good idea guy doesn’t think he needs limit straps though
What’re your thoughts on bushings over heims for extra flexibility/cushion in that joint for frontal impacts on the tire (ie hitting a small but steep bump or rock at a higher speed)? Wouldn’t that help absorb the kinetic energy transfer?

Seems like it would have to help. But, I don't notice any difference. I had bushings but swapped to the heims to get proper camber. Later, after thinking TC arms were wrong, I had the buckets pulled and everything got right with the world.
All you're getting here is my opinion so take it with a grain of salt.
Since you already have the bushing style, I think, if you got the coil bucket brace, you might avoid bending your buckets and hopefully never have to switch your UCAs.
Also, 37s at 20-22psi will have far more dampening effect on little bumps than bushings in the UCAs.

Just dug through this ( https://www.tundras.com/threads/200...abrication-intro-pricing-in-first-post.53441/ ) whole post. Sounds like the V420s are 100% the best option for a SUA if you're running LT with some extra weight in the bed, ie: RTT, spare, water, fuel cans, etc... I'll get my truck weighed this week with the bed cage and full size spare to compare specs, but idk if I'm gunna be as heavy on the rear axle as the other guys running the 3" pack. Maybe this is a better question for Deaver, but would the V420s with one less leaf be better for a lighter axle weight or would the I96s work fine? I just don't want to run into needing a re-arch and potentially fatiguing the metal over time. I'm also not huge into the idea of driving around face-down, ass up because of the axle weight these were designed for haha.

Lol i'm waiting on them to get back from Thanksgiving break. How much gear are you running in the bed?

I had I96 HD before my V420 3” springs. Empty was maybe ok..., but after first trip had Valley Spring re-arch, and add a leaf. They worked awesome but not enough weight capacity for me, truck is HEAVY. You probably don’t want the springs we all run for the constant loads we carry, but something close will be perfect. Alex and Bruce will have the best advice, my truck is dope.

Absolutely talk to Jeff about your loaded weight. My guess is he won't eliminate a leaf, he'll just make them a bit thinner or less arch. Alex and @papasmurf started this whole thing so like @Vizsla said, talk to them too.

@tundra_kc Believe @Stewie recently had Dirt King install their everything rear kit with bed cage, he might be some help. @jc153 has my fixed I96HD, so if you don’t want 3” he has as good as it gets for stock width springs imo..

Yeah for sure. I'll get the weights and wait for them to peak in here.
